How to find a good botox clinic?

I have really prominent frown lines that are getting me down. I’m not chasing eternal beauty (I’ve never been exactly ‘beautiful’ anyway!) but I hate that these frown lines make me look so angry and cross all the time. So I want somewhere that will give me the minimum necessary to soften the lines and obviously I want it to be natural looking, pain free as possible and really safe.

Everything I have read says to go by personal recommendations, but I don’t know anyone who gets botox.
I’m a bit suspicious of online reviews in case they are planted. I don’t mind paying what it takes to have a good job done but can’t afford to be ripped off.

What do I need to consider when choosing somewhere? Are there certiificates or qualifications or quality marks of some kind to be looking for?

Thanks!

@ScarlettDarling

Has anyone got any North east recommendations? I do know someone who went to her dentist but ended up with one raised eyebrow ala Jack Nicholson for the next few months. Luckily she had a long enough fringe to cover it but I’d rather avoid that!
I can recommend City Aesthetics in Newcastle. She is a prescribing nurse and I've always been happy with the results.

In the north west o would recommend Dr Robin Stones at courthouse clinic in wilmslow. He is a dermatologist and absolutely brilliant not cheap but worth it.

brushlaptop · 20/03/2021 21:29

If you are in London see dr wassim taktouk he is excellent! Not cheap though!

WhiteWriting · 20/03/2021 21:34

After a bloody awful year I look absolutely haggard - can anyone help me out with a practitioner recommendation in Suffolk please?

pinkgin85 · 21/03/2021 08:48

Any recommendations in Essex? Not for Botox but I would like to get tear trough fillers soon...mine have become quite hollowed out this year!

NeedToGetOuttaHere · 21/03/2021 10:32

I go to a dermatologist who works in private and NHS hospitals so maybe try looking at your nearest private hospital.

lotionInTheBasket · 21/03/2021 10:36

Anywhere Midlands?

newname2021 · 21/03/2021 10:52

@lotionInTheBasket

Anywhere Midlands?
East or West? I can recommend someone in Nottingham if you're interested.
Jennyennidots · 21/03/2021 10:54

Thanks for all the replies! I live in a village in Wales (my dentist and local surgery do not offer botox!) Chester or Shrewsbury are my best bets for botix I think?
I’m going to check out Saveface, thank you!

@Shieldingending

Can anyone recommend someone in the north west?
Yes, I can. Emma at Dermabella. Preston-ish way. Nurse who used to work with plastic surgeons. Excellent and ded reasonable too.
JMAngel1 · 21/03/2021 13:01

One of the school muns goes to Dr Saleh in Cheadle, Stockport for NW rec. She does look very natural.

Delatron · 21/03/2021 13:01

@PilatesPeach I’d love to get the Bucks recommendation, thank you. I’m not having much luck finding anyone good.

QueenPaw · 21/03/2021 13:02

NW I use kita aesthetics

I see Medicetics on Connaught St has been mentioned already on this thread. That’s where I go as well. I usually see Vicki Dondos there, I researched her thoroughly before starting on this journey. On my last visit I actually had Dr Seppi and she’s brilliant too. Friendly and personable. They use a very light touch and err on the side of caution. For example, neither will let me have forehead done as my eyelids are a bit hooded and they’re worried about droop! So I have crows feet and number 11s done and love it. Costs £345. Steep but I knew if I was going to do Botox I wouldn’t cut any corners or take chances.

To the poster who asked about duration, I’d say I get about three months out of the eye area but much longer from the number 11s. It wears off the crows feet earlier than anywhere else. And that’s the best part! Honestly, all the face creams in the world can’t come close to the effect of just having the lines wiped away!

ScarlettDarling · 21/03/2021 19:11

@julieandertoninthewarehouse thanks for that.

sunshinegirly · 21/03/2021 19:15

@pinkgin85 @RAINSh0wers I can recommend someone for Botox and Tear Trow filers if you are anywhere near Brentwood? She is a GP and works from home. Let me know and I'll dm you.

RAINSh0wers · 21/03/2021 19:31

Yes please @sunshinegirly, I’m only 15 mins away. Would prefer local than going into london!

Boorfi · 20/03/2022 12:49

Doesn’t your surgery have any secretaries?

Question887 · 20/03/2022 13:35

I'm in Wales OP but are you in North Wales?

LesLavandes · 20/03/2022 13:43
