Very good deodorant that smells amazing

I have been using Coco Mademoiselle deodorant for ages. Expensive but very effective for me. In the last few years something has changed with my body and I tried dozens of deodorants with no effect. Then I have been gifted this and never went back! Not only it's working but it smells amazing too.

Would anyone be able to suggest a similar product, possibly cheaper?

Perhaps it would be helpful if you said what you have tried and hasn't worked...

user1471523870 · 19/03/2021 09:56

Sorry, yes of course!
I tried Mitchumm, Sure, Nivea, Dove (several types of each) and a number of ecofriendly ones (like Pitrock and other sticks made with more natural ingredients).
Pitrock used to work for me until few years ago, then all of a sudden it stopped. Some of the standard supermarket ones even make me smell worse than not wearing them (sorry for TMI).
I don't have a particular problem with BO, I don't really sweat much and shower at least once a day. It's just annoying that I can't rely on any products for a very basic part of my routine!

Sannex with the light peach lid

SummaLuvin · 19/03/2021 10:01

Ahh, ok, my recommendation would have been Mitchumm. I like a lot of their scents and I find they control any odour really well, but clearly don't work for you. Sorry.

DinosaurDiana · 19/03/2021 10:06

Why don’t you go with an effective but scentless deodorant and perfume.
Most importantly you need the deodorant to work.

whatthehellisthiszap · 19/03/2021 10:11

Does Coco Mademoiselle actually stop you sweating or is it just a fragrance though? It's advertised as a deodorant but sounds more like a perfume. Whereas some of the others you've listed are antiperspirants.

Vaseline roll on, I've converted lots of friends including men!

FlibbertyGiblets · 19/03/2021 10:27

Yes I was going to ask about whether deodorant or antiperspirant is needed.

user1471523870 · 19/03/2021 11:12

I had to google the difference between the two ("Antiperspirants reduce sweat, and deodorants increase skin acidity, which odor-causing bacteria don't like") but still don't really understand what I should look for! Perhaps one type works for me but the other doesn't and I haven't really known the difference so far?
I will start by trying the vaseline roll on, which is something I haven't tried yet - thanks MrsSDK.
About the Chanel one, it's not just perfumed, it makes me not smell. But now that you mentioned it also makes me not sweat...

Mitchum. But the cream one, not the spray or roll on.

ChequerBoard · 19/03/2021 15:11

Malin & Goetz Bergamot deodorant- smells so lovely and actually works. It's the only stick deodorant I have tried that I actually like.

It's so good that DH has started stealing it to use although he prefers the eucalyptus one.

Damfino · 19/03/2021 15:29

Vichy roll-on is the only one that works for me (been using it for over 20 years). I use the Intensive 48hr (smells soapy) but sometimes use the Men's Extreme Control 72hr (smells a bit peppery but clean).

Bananaman123 · 19/03/2021 18:52

Triple dry from boots is effective but not a strong smell

windmill26 · 19/03/2021 21:01

Bionsen

Pinksatin · 19/03/2021 21:05

Deodorants just mask the smell. Anti perspirants stop you from sweating.

I’ve found Mitchum stick to be very effective.

The rose roll on from M&S is lovely. When I couldn't get there in lockdown DH bought me a roll on from Aldi which is surprisingly good and very cheap

The M&S one smells subtly nice, dries quickly I find and I never get any sort of marks in my clothing which I used to get with aerosols

Sannex with the light peach lid
Yes ! I love it .
Einszwei · 20/03/2021 01:26

Dove maximum protection pomegranate and lemon verbena.... the other scents just don't work for me.
