Gel Nails/LED Lamp

Hi, I’m looking for some advice please. I’ve purchased the Le Mini Macaron deluxe LED Gel Kit, which includes the lamp and a few colours plus the hardening top coat. The only issue I have (besides my technique which needs some improvement!) is the lack of colours available.

The reviews for the lamp mentioned that you can use it with any gel polish. Does anyone have any recommendations please?

I also have a few of the Rimmel Gel Polishes in colours I love, which don’t need to be set under a lamp - but does anyone know whether I can use them with the lamp? Will it make them stronger?

I have the mylee lamp and buy colours off eBay. Never had any issues they last around a week

Using a lamp won't make the rimmel stronger as it's just normal polish but shinier to give a gel polish effect! I really recommend blue-sky gel colours you can get on amazon though :) they are about £6 each, I do base coat, a coat of nyk1 hard gel (also amazon), two coats of colour and two of top coat and they last 4 weeks usually! It's all about the prep, I use a cuticle gel and pusher and buff and file and wipe with alcohol before my base goes on.

It’s probably not recommended but I quite often use a normal nail polish then put a layer of gel topcoat on and cure under my lamp. It usually lasts a good 10 days.

I use CND polish and top coat with a builder gel base
Mine last 3-4 weeks

I sometimes add glitter under top coat for extra durability
This is after 2 weeks
