Hush - I’m annoyed!

I’m a very good customer of Hush’s (Hushes!?) I do really like the clothes and spend a lot of money - especially in lockdown (why, I have no idea! I’ve nowhere to wear these nice clothes!)
Anyway, I usually keep everything as I do tend to like the stuff and I also hate sending things back (lazy). I made a large order which I duly received but didn’t like one of the items which I sent back. This is the first time I’ve returned anything. It was a dress costing £110 - so not cheap! I posted it at the local PO on 25-02-21 and I still haven’t had a refund!
I emailed them on 09-03 with a copy of the proof of return and received a (slight p.a. I thought) reply about how “oh, you shouldn’t be panicking just yet - you must allow at least 10 days for returns to be processed and don’t forget you will be covered by your proof of postage - and we are very very busy”. Ok. So I waited another week and emailed again yesterday morning - I’ve just looked and have no reply. Ive never received an acknowledgment of the item having been returned. I mentioned in the email yesterday that I’m a very good customer of theirs - I think this is what’s annoying me the most - I’ve spent thousands with them and they don’t seem to give a stuff.

So what do I do now? I sent a parcel back to boden on the same day and received my refund 3 days later! I will also be very annoyed if they are going to expect me to chase the money from the PO - surely this should be their issue to deal with when I’ve provided proof I returned it?
Has anyone else had this experience from Hush?

Refunds are taking ages at the mo .. I but my hush clothing from John Lewis though as their policies are better . Maybe consider that in the future .

Thanks for the responses - both good ideas! Il give them a little longer but i think il be loathe to order again unless it’s something I’m pretty sure il keep.

Hush are very slow. Mint velvet are so quick next day delivery and my return was processed within 5 days of them receiving it. Hush took 5 weeks! Also got something from next and they sent an incorrect item which I complained about and they wanted me to pay to return it and wait for a refund then pay to have it delivered again they were very unhelpful, would’ve been fine if I wanted a different item but the item I got was incorrect. Anyway I prefer John Lewis too as can return to Waitrose and it’s much quicker

I don't think you should take it personally.
Also, I don't think big mainstream companies these days value customer loyalty. Someone will probably process your return without noting how much you have spent with them previously.

In September 2020 I returned 2 items to Hush. I was only refunded for one. They were v funny about it. I had to send “proof” of sending - but they already had it as they had received the package! It was a bit frustrating and they were quite unhelpful and weird about it. Eventually I found the proof of posting and sent it to them and got refunded. It was quite odd. Put me off really. I do like their stuff, though i only buy occasionally and anyway I am getting a bit old for it now. I have a beautiful scarf from them though!

You didn’t imagine it OP. Their response and attitude was all a bit weird.

They sound really slow and that’s annoying but you shouldn’t expect special treatment from being a regular customer, companies just don’t work like that any more

I don’t expect special treatment - I just expect my money to be refunded within a week or two like all the other companies I’ve ever returned something to. And as for companies not working like that any more - maybe not - but if they treat everyone like this they will lose customers, especially in the looming recession - I’m probably not going to order things from them any more and I’m pretty laidback so I’m sure others will feel the same if it happens to them (and doing searches on other threads it seems they are notoriously bad at returns)
They really should be doing everything they can to keep their customers happy - and not be sending out snippy emails and ignoring people!

I’ve never got a refund from Hush without chasing them. I only buy from JL now as they refund much quicker.

I haven’t been impressed with their customer service. They make you feel like you’re annoying them by asking a question. Odd considering the prices for essentially leisure wear.

Hush are shit anyway - 90% of their stuff is overpriced, frumpy and looks like rags after a couple of washes. They used to be better but I've given up on them now!
