So I bought these beautiful nubuck leather boots from dune and bought some Nikwax nubuck and suede protector spray to use on them. I followed the instructions exactly- and they came out a disaster. Nasty watermarks on them, parts turned out darker than others. I've attached a pic of the boots and a pic of the horrendous results! I've been compensated for the damage to the boots and have ordered a replacement pair, but obviously am not going to use Nikwax on them!
Does anyone have any recommendations of what I should use to protect them? Or am I better off not doing anything? I'm scared to spray anything on the new pair! The Nikwax was a pump spray which made the boots quite damp, would I be better off with an aerosol spray and just go very lightly?
Any advice would be very much appreciated! I've had no problems using a different (also pump spray) protector spray on suede, including light suede trainers recently, but I'm wondering if nubuck is harder to do!
