Hair colour. How often do you do it?

My hair, in normal times, seems to need roots doing at the hairdressers every 3 weeks. If I make it do an extra week, I have roots, and if I spray them, I manage to get it on pillows etc. On another thread, peeps are often talking about a colour every 6 weeks! I would be RootyMcRooty by then! Is it down to the difference between your dye and normal colour? I have an auburnish colour on my red tinted but going grey hair. So is it the contrast that makes me need it more often, or am I just a bit weird? TIA.

Every 6 weeks, but really it needs to be every 4. I do use spray. My dye is pretty close to my natural colour though, dark brown so it’s not a big contrast.

Mine needs doing every 3 weeks - we just have fast hair growth unfortunately. I lighten mine 3 shades so the darker roots with greys really show through easily.

That makes sense. . I wish I could just let it go, but really, would need silver highlights putting in to transition it to proper grey/silver, and feels I might just as well continue with current colour.

Maybe I'm blind to it but my current colour has lasted since October its not particularly close to my hair colour either. Maybe its wishful thinking too!

It might be worth looking in to highlights or balayage, which will last longer because it will blend several colours. It’s more expensive but so worth it.

Thanks all. That's worth looking into Toilenstripes.
