I am finding it impossible to find a nice jacket. I am 51 yo and my body has changed with the menopause and don't understand it anymore. I have always been a size 8 from the waist up and 10 from the waist down, but now I seem to be more of a 12 all over, but not always. The problem is that I am short, and most things look rubbish on me. What I don't understand is how many tops (t-shirts, blouses and jackets) are really short on the body. I don't get it. I am short all over, quite well proportioned actually, and most tops I try just seem really short. The fashion for cropped stuff seems really unflattering on anyone over the age of 20 in my opinion.
Anyway, I didn't mean to have a rant.
Recently I bought this jacket and tried size 10 and 12. Size 10 fitted okay in terms of size but it was so boxy, it made me look shorter and wider than I am.
Blazer style jackets never seem to fit quite right, even the very few I have found available in petite. The always seem to be tight across the chest (I don't have big boobs).
Anyway. I thought I'd ask if there's anywhere you can think of where I can find a lovely quality well fitting smart casual jacket in black, blue or charcoal in the style of the Ted Baker one, but longer and less boxy, but not exactly fitted either as nothing seems to fit my weird body properly.
