Band T-Shirts

I’m generally in the wear what you like whatever your age brigade, but band t-shirts?

I said I now feel too old.
DH said it’s fine as I’m the same age as the band members. I quite like that logic but wondered what opinion was on here

I feel like I've got beyond the point of declaring my hobbies and interests on my clothes.

evilharpy · 16/03/2021 14:03

I'm 40 and still wear band tees. All the bands I love seem to be making appearances on T shirts at H&M these days Grin

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 16/03/2021 14:23

I love band t-shirts!

This is my current favourite one, of Alex Turner ❤️

Wear whatever you like at any age. I'm 33, two years younger than Arctic Monkeys and have loved them since I was 17. I quite like declaring it to the world 😁

My only rule of wearing band T-shirt’s is that you must be an actual fan of the artist. I remember my dsis wearing a Ramones T-shirt when they were in fashion and I asked her to name 3 of their songs - she couldn’t name one!

LunaNorth · 16/03/2021 14:26

47 in May. I wear what I like.

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 16/03/2021 14:58

@Loopyloututu2 I'm with you there- you absolutely have to be a fan of the artist, it's the whole point surely!

MrsVeryTired · 16/03/2021 15:01

I love my band t-shirts, have a bunch of them and am late 40's.
But agree, you do have to be a fan Grin silly otherwise.

Kintsugi16 · 16/03/2021 15:08

These are bands I have seen.
Mostly tour t-shirts tbh

51 in June. Love a band t shirt . i love music..

LST · 16/03/2021 15:10

I'm 30 and wear band t shirts regularly. You do need to be a fan though. There is no age to anything as long as you feel comfortable

bellagogosdead · 16/03/2021 15:18

I only wear them for bed now and not the original ones as they are too delicate.
There was a time in my life when I never wore anything else on my top half. I was so snobby about it I only wore tshirts I had actually bought at a gig; anything from HMV or somewhere did not count. Grin Hmm

Derekhello · 16/03/2021 15:31

I’m 50 and today I’m wearing my Prince and the revolution t shirt. Don’t give a hoot what anyone else thinks! 💜

Ghostlyglow · 17/03/2021 14:02

You can wear them at any age as long as you have seen them live.

orangenasturtium · 17/03/2021 14:16

I think it's just fine. It's not an option for me though because my vintage band t-shirts have all ended up in my DC's wardrobes Grin

NeedWineNow · 17/03/2021 14:37

I'm 58 and I've got my Foo Fighters one (of which I have several) on at the moment.

And I've got the Foo Fighters Vans Hi-Tops.

I am a HUGE fan though, and have been for years.

NoMoreZigAndSharko · 17/03/2021 14:45

Never too old for band tshirts! Agree with pp that you should be a fan of the band though, or have seen them on tour (which means you probably are a bit of a fan).

NoMoreZigAndSharko · 17/03/2021 14:45

Which I know you have op!

Pigtailsandall · 17/03/2021 14:49

I'm 40 and wear them all the time with black jeans and leather jacket.

If you do it because you love their music, great. If it's a stock item t-shirt from primark, not so much.
