Talk to me about retinol

I do take care of my skin but dd has started nagging me about using retinol

So I normally

Clean everything off at night with micellar water
Then use facial oil
Then night cream

In the morning I'll use a water based face wash then use my daily moisturiser

Where do I fit the retinol in?
What strength do I use?
Any recommendations on brand? (Preferably that I can pick up from boots)

Thanks in advance Smile

How old are you?

Personally I wouldn't bother with OTC retinol

I'd go to prescription Tretinoin from Dermatica or Skin and me

Use at night only . You also need to wear sunscreen everyday

I'm 45

Retinol is a good idea.
If you like a facial oil, Revolution do a 0.5% Retinol rosehip oil. Prescription retinol is what will make the most difference, but this might be a nice way to introduce it into your routine and see how you get on. Just use it in place of your current facial oil at night.
You definitely need SPF, regardless of if you decide to use the retinol or not. I was using La Roche Posay, but I've swapped for the Ambre Solaire sensitive face fluid, which is about a tenner cheaper and just as good.
Both brands readily available on the high street.

It's a waste of time to do retinol in oil at 45 imo . Get straight onto the prescription , low dose is super manageable

MozzchopsThirty · 16/03/2021 11:04

How much is it and where prescribes it?

Dermatica or Skin and Me .

20 pounds a month . First month free I think still .

I delay mine so it's every 6 weeks now

This gives you 2 months free, you don't have to use mine but the codes on google look like this Smile
