Layering jumper - willI look like I'm wearing school uniform?

I'm looking for a black jumper to layer over jersey tops and found this from M&S. As per the title, will it look like school uniform? I'm in my 50's, so no danger of looking like an actual schoolgirl.

I also like this from Oliver Bonas, but will it look like I've got dressed without a mirror and put it on backwards?

I like the m&S one. I don't think it will look like school uniform. I'm not keen on the OB one. Think it's the ruching. I'd stick to a classic v or crew neck or sleeveless tank for layering.

Very possibly in that style, depends on what you're wearing it with.

The M & S one doesn't look like the most flattering shape.

What kind of look are you going for?

I have the M&S one but in a duck egg blue colour (last season). It is a very relaxed fit on me, so not a school uniform type shape jumper. I wear with jeans and a long sleeve scooped neck thermal underneath as I always feel cold, and it’s never occurred to me that it might look like school uniform

Haha, no. With jeans and probably a jersey top or a t-shirt underneath. The comments do all say it's quite big, so if I got for that one I'd size down. Undecided, though....

It is really big - I would absolutely size down. I normally wear a 12 and bought a medium, which was a mistake!

Yeah, I'm a 10-12 and was thinking I'd need XS!
