How do I find my style?

I lost about 3 stone last year and am now realising that as the world opens up again I'm going to have to buy some new clothes that aren't too big...

But I have no idea where to start! How do I find what I like and what suits me? I'm keen to try and be more stylish than I was but no idea where to start.

I'm 34, 5ft 11 and now a 12/14 with big(ish) boobs. I've never really worn pattern or much colour but I'm not opposed to it.

At the moment it's very rare I wear anything other than gym kit or jeans and T-shirt.

Any advice welcomed...I really do feel like I'm a complete dunce!

Wow that's amazing weight loss well done.

Maybe a personal shopper when shops are open again? I did this but it wasn't in store person but an independent woman. It was quite helpful. Especially on colours that suit.

Oh I hadn't even considered that @GojiberryStar...that's something to google!

Well done on the weight loss Smile
Are you on Pinterest? I find it good for style inspiration. I look for something I like eg animal print shoes and then see what other looks people have paired with it.

Hmm I've only ever used Pinterest for home stuff @MrsVeryTired - will take a look!

I would say work out your colours first. Pastels really DONT suit me (dark hair pale skin) but looking amazing on two of my blonde friends.

Having your colours done followed by a style session with House Of Colour would be the perfect way to start . I did it many years ago after a big weight loss and never looked back . The best money ever spent that saved me a fortune over the years .

Congratulations on your weight loss Larry

Congratulations on the weight loss! That's impressive.

I also recommend Pinterest. I set up 4 boards, one for each season. And I'd look up celebs whose style you like or characters from tv/movies.

Pin the stuff you like without overthinking what you think will suit you, then look over your boards and see if there's any common themes that emerge, that will give you a clue on what styles delight your eyes.

Thanks all.

How do I work out what suits me as opposed to what I like? Eg I quite like shirts but know that it's unlikely my boobs will fit in to them?!

Firstly think about day to day comfort/ warmth

Get essential high quality staples

Then try on things in shops and take a friend to take photos

Go home and review

You might try Stitchfix as you get to give them lots of info about yourself and what you like or dislike, style wise, and they send suggested items for you to try.
