Dressing gown rage

I hate my dressing gown and I’ve worked out why. It is Too Hot. It’s not even a fleecy one, it’s cotton towelling (IKEA).

Anyone got/seen one that’s a bit thinner, but a bit more than just cotton weight?

Think I’m pushing the boundaries of this board’s description with this one Grin

I get so so hot in my towelling one, I can’t bear it!

I bought a long thin one from Cyberjammies - it is thin cotton but being full length means it’s always warm enough even in winter and I feel so much less encumbered. But it’s light enough that I can even hop back into bed with my tea wearing it without overheating.

Silk - warm but light.

Following - I really want fluffy but light and that's hard to find!

It was a nightmare finding one.

I ended up picking up one in a supermarket, and it is exactly what I wanted.

Toast dressing gowns are lovely but kerching

Yes, maybe I need to go and have a feel in person.

Mines from savillerow and is silk and cashmere, perfect

Waffle ones from The White Company are a good mid-point.

You want one of these. I’ve got two and would not wear anything else:

Lovely cotton lawn in nice designs and they wash really well.

When I'm bumbling around in my PJs in the morning I often use a zip front hoodie over them instead of any of my dressing gowns. It's also better for reading/MNing in bed than full length.

I do have a selection of dressing gowns - towelling for post-bath, fleecy for winter evenings on sofa, thin kimonos long and short, and a nice lined kimono, the double weight makes it a good intermediate warmth.

I know you said not cotton, but I have a waffley one which is cotton. I love it as it dried quickly if you put it on straight after shower.

Having said that, I don't like dressing gowns generally, as they are too hot and drag about the place and come undone all the time. Bah.
