Smaller size with muffin or bigger size?

I’m having a dilemma. There are lots of midi skirts around like from hush that are elasticated.

What looks best in your opinion?

  • tighter size that you can get into but gives a muffin situation around the waist, albeit makes waist band area look smaller
Or
  • a larger correct size that seems to make me look a lot wider around the waist band

I’m worried I either fall into the trap of obviously wearing clothes that are too tight, or, just looking massive even though clothes are right size.

This is what puts me off elasticated waists, I think I’m just the wrong shape for them. If I had to choose I’d go for the larger size though.

It always looks better when you're not being squeezed by your clothes like that.

@Karmatime I am starting to think the same. I had a black one from cos last year and only wore it very occasionally. Usually when it was really hot as opposed to when I wanted to look really good.

A muffin will always make you look bigger than you are. Although I agree about the elasticated waists, sometimes even bigger sizes dig in.

Muffin never looks good.

This is why I never wear boy short knickers or bikini bottoms - a muffin top regardless of how thin I am. It's not you it's the skirt - maybe neither if both sizes give you issues.
