Perfume suggestions

I need some new perfume and want something new.

Budget up to £75 but needs to be from m&s or John Lewis (as have been given a reward from work in voucher form and can pick from these 2).

I hate sweet scent so nothing vanilla esque. I hate heavy musky scent. I like citrus, some of the less sweet fruity and florals and a tiny bit of woody but not too much.

Like a bit of bergamot, freesia, pineapple (if not too sweet - I have a gorgeous soap from the rhs but find it too sweet in most perfume and combined with vanilla a lot).

Oh and I don't like oceanic fragrance as to me it smells like wee/disinfectant

Any suggestions?

What about Clinique Happy?

Hermes Eau des Merveille is a orange blossom, amber, tobacco and wood scent. Beautiful.

(I too hate any sweet or goumord perfumes).

What about Jo Malone - English Pear and Freesia? The smaller sized 30ml bottle is well within your budget and I believe it is available at John Lewis:

I would strongly recommend Sisley No3, available from John Lewis. The most perfect bergamot, lemon and ginger citrus.

Hi Chloe is lovely. Also Elie Saab. I also love Calvin Klein Europhia, i used to always get asked what perfume I had on when i used this.

I don’t typically like Jo Malone for the same reason as you, I hate floral scents. But I’d thoroughly recommend Blackberry and Bay. It’s perfect in between - not too musky or headache inducing.

If you like citrus this is one of the best, and long-lasting, which many citrus fragrances aren't. Perfect for spring and summer.

John Lewis carries it.

Oh you lovelies, thank you. I will work through.

I've had quite a lot of Jo Malone and used to wear Clinique Happy back in the day so great suggestions

I have similar tastes to you and am currently wearing La Fille de l'Air by Courreges - full of pettigrain, bergamot, orange blossom and neroli. I also wear Jo Malone Basil and Neroli.

CrepuscularCritter · 13/03/2021 14:07

I forgot to add that I think M&S do Fragonard's Fleur d'Oranger which also might fit your preferences.

Tartyflette · 13/03/2021 14:08

I can also recommend Eau de Guerlain as a classic cologne with a lovely citrus fragrance, in budget and stocked by JL.
'Stimulating, bracing, dynamic. Eau de Guerlain is a ray of sun that plunges into the crystal pure water of a torrent. It is a fresh, vibrant sparkling eau: the smell of dry herbs blends with the tangy aroma of lemon, bergamot and verbena to evoke the sun-kissed region of Provence.' ( Product Information! )

100ml
