Does Olaplex/Fibreplex and the like contain Formaldehyde?

Hi,

Just that really.

Was researching as I'm looking at bleaching my hair again and the salon I'm interested in uses Fibreplex. Have previously used Olaplex.

I did a Google and apparently one of the bonuses of Olaplex is that it doesn't contain formaldehyde, suggesting that it's competitors did, as it was a versus article.

However, after further googling, there were some articles suggesting that they all contained it! 🤯

Anyone in the know?

Thanks

It's illegal to use formaldehyde in cosmetics in the EU, most companies don't go through the bother of making a separate formaldehyde free formula just for the EU and just don't use formaldehyde. Anyhow, should be pretty easy to see in the INCI. I assume you got lost in some scaremongering rabbit hole, with suggestions of formaldehyde releasers being in everything.

Formaldehyde is a gas at room temperature so I doubt it. Formalin is liquid though.

Is it on the ingredients?.

Tbh if I was you I’d buy a sample of damage remedy from aveda and try that. It’s ruinously expensive but annoyingly effective.
