Are foot spas ever a good idea?

Or do they pretty much always end up unused after the first time at the top of an unreachable cupboard somewhere

I've used mine approx 5 times since new year. Probably because I can't get pedicures. But I do like it. I'm going to make it a regular thing 😊

StCharlotte · 12/03/2021 08:40

When I lived in a house without a bath and my job meant I was on my feet all day, I used mine a lot. Now I do a pedicure straight after a bath and have no idea where the footspa is!

Crayfishforyou · 12/03/2021 13:44

They are a pain to empty and clean

Lamentations · 12/03/2021 16:15

Buy a cheap washing up bowl and reassess how much you've used it after a couple of months and then decide.

This - I asked for one as a present once and used it the grand total of about 5 times before I realised filling and emptying a bucket or washing up bowl was much easier!
AnotheChinHair · 13/03/2021 07:57

Thanks ladies. A good old fashioned bucket will do then.

I use an old washing up bowl to soak.

DaisyDaisyDay · 13/03/2021 09:42

I just use a bucket. It's so much easier to fill and carry and empty as it has a handle.

Same! I use a bucket but sometimes if you use the Vileda Mop Buckets (which I've used) the handle can become less effective if the bucket is really full!
cravingthelook · 15/03/2021 11:41

Mine has a clever top bit which is the handle as well. It's way more sturdy than a bucket handle.
Thus very easy to fill, move and empty.

chipsandpeas · 15/03/2021 11:43

i borrowed my old one from my mums about 3 months ago and never used it yet
i keep planning to but never get round to it

IHaveBrilloHair · 15/03/2021 13:29

I've got a foot massager , best thing ever ! No water and it sits under an arm chair in my lounge so I can get it out when I need it and slide it back after .

This one ! It's amazing!

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 15/03/2021 17:41

The water doesn't keep warm in a bucket though.

fine for me! It cools down from blisteringly hot which is just how I like it!

I'd rather do it this way than have the faff of filling and storing a foot spa (had one!)

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 23/03/2021 17:36

I love mine and it's never a hassle. 👣

I'm really interested in this. Is it loud? Cab you control the temperature?
Spied · 23/03/2021 21:17

Mine wasn't worth the hassle and sitting with my feet in it I would get annoyed thinking I'd have saved a fortune with a bucket.
I used it three times then gave it away.

Do you remember the fish spas, where the fish would nibble the dead skin away? Cost about a tenner (near me, probably twice that in London). I liked those, but they all went out of business a few years back.

Oh I went to one of those in the shopping centre - Queensway? and somewhere else. I found it a bit weird the way they'd nibble your feet and yes it was a fad - now all gone I think!
huuuuunnnndderrricks · 26/03/2021 11:53

Those fish spas were gross and stopes because of the hygiene risk!

huuuuunnnndderrricks · 26/03/2021 11:54

@dudsville .. yes you can turn the heat off or on and no not overly noisy Z I sit watching tv and it's fine. It's so great for my painful feet !

CleverCatty · 26/03/2021 14:20

apparently they were also cruel to the fish as they didn't generally eat dead skin but only if they were starving.

Many states in USA banned them for this reason. and probably the hygiene too.
