Trench coat for Spring

I am a 35 year old mum of 2 trying to become less frumpy and more chic. There is a gap in my wardrobe for a light Spring coat and I am considering a camel-coloured trench coat. I'm a size 14 and an apple shape - I think I would wear the coat unbuttoned as I fear I would resemble Inspector Gadget otherwise. Has anyone encountered anything that might fit the bill? Budget is up to £100 so sadly not Burberry territory.

This is the look I am going for...

Following as I am also looking for a good trench though in blue as I look like I work in a warehouse in beige/camel colouredSad Love the one in your photo (in blue).

little out of your budget but I have several of the Hobbs Saskia trenches in different colours and they are amazing.
Smart, last years and come back from the dry cleaners looking immaculate.

I just bought the petite version of the M&S trench and it was £55. I sized down and it’s perfect.

I just bought one from Arket and one from River Island to try. I wanted a longer length one. My old Jigsaw one is about 12 years old and is well worn.

M&S have a great one for £55, I ordered it in the apple green and it is lovely, though unfortunately double breasted turned out not to suit me. The quality was incredible for the price.

@IrisW + @Ponks - I have ordered the same one from M&S, it looks lovely, will report back when it arrives

@PandoraP blue is probably a much more practical colour, I am quite set on camel but agree there are definitely warehouse connotations!

@Oly4 oh that is beautiful. I will see how the M&S one looks and if it is no good I might consider upping my budget.

@fiorentina ooh please report back as to how they are. I had totally forgotten to check River Island.

@waltzingparrot + @asparalite - thanks for the suggestions - off to have a look

The River Island one arrived and is great quality. I’ve reordered a smaller size but love the style and length. It’s this one www.riverisland.com/p/beige-ri-studio-longline-trench-coat-785672?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIheyJk6ap7wIVQZ7tCh30Vgw4EAQYASABEgID7PD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Annoyingly it has been featured on several Instagram accounts but I still like it!
