Can anyone recommend a vitamin C serum?

I’m in my fifties and my skin is looking a little dull, not to mention the wrinkles. I’d like to try a vit C serum. I don’t have loads to spend so something like la Roche Posay or Vichy would be good , in the £30 mark. If anyone has used these or others I’d love to hear your views. Thanks in advance.

I've tried both and much prefer the Vichy, although it's a tiny bottle (10ml) so is actually quite pricy when you compare it to other serums that come in 30ml.

The best budget one I've tried is the Garden of Wisdom one.

Either of these.

I’d go with something stronger, more active ingredient cosmeceutical than high st. Medik8 have a good couple of options, also Paula’s Choice. Maybe not their strongest versions, might need to work up to those. I think Nadine Baggot has recently done a YouTube video on her fave vit c serums at different price points?

The best one I've tried is a Balance brand one from Savers for £2.99! I prefer it to more expensive ones I've used. It probably depends on skin type and so on though, but as this is only £2.99 if you live near a Savers I'd recommend giving it a go.

I have been impressed with the Boots own brand Ingredients range.

I've just started with Paula's choice and really like it. I'd go for that or Medik8 to get a good effect.

I like the Holland and Barrett own brand Vitamin C & Hyaluronic Acid serum.

It’s very reasonably priced too.

Best one ive used is Lumene

I use the ordinary vit c powder in my sunblock every morning.

I've used and liked the Superdrug one, which is £10. that was out of stock online when I went to reorder so I got a Nip Fab one on Amazon for about £16 and it's also been nice, probably slightly prefer it to the superdrug one

Thanks everyone. There are so many options! I think I might go for the Vichy one. The fact that it’s a tiny bottle suits me, as I don’t want to be left with lots of unused product if I don’t get on with it. I also like the fact that you can buy it in Boots- I’m old fashioned like that!

The Vichy one definitely is worth using.I've been very pleased with it, using it in the morning. It's designed to be used within 10 days as vit c oxidised!

whataboutbob · 11/03/2021 21:20

Thanks @asparalite I’ll report back. I think it’s on offer at a reduced price right now which helps.
