Shopping for Bras

So obviously, it's not possible to go for a bra measure anywhere.

I've measured and bought from matalan twice and on both occasions they don't fit. I think im measuring correctly, where's the best place to buy correct fitting bras?

How are you measuring? Don't add extra inches to the back size for a start

Use boob or bust website for a better measuring guide

The bras I've bought (for me and my 15yr old daughter) have both come up too small both cup and around.

Is there a particular website you can recommend to use as a measuring guide please?

I always use bra stop when buying bras online. I recently ordered 10 to try and have kept 2. They often have good sales running and it’s free delivery and returns if you spend over £75. I always use my credit card so no money leaves my account and then returns have been sorted before the bill is due. I was never going to keep all 10 bras, but I was able to order a variety of sizes to try.

So many people have recommended boob or bust on here. But having followed the measuring guidelines exactly, or so I thought, it comes up with a bra size that isn't big enough to fasten.

Has anyone else had a similar experience who can pinpoint what I am doing wrong?

dementedpixie · 10/03/2021 22:21

It's a guide and it depends on how squidgy you are e.g. I measure 37 under bust but wear a 36 back. If you find it too tight then you can try a sister size e.g. measure 36F then a sister size would be 38E.

Also depends on the brand and style of bra

I think that's what I'm struggling with, different brands can vary - I know this can be the case with all clothing etc and that's why I wasn't sure if it was my measuring that was wrong or matalan bra sizing may come up small?

I think I'd wait and get a proper fitting, personally. I went to Bravissimo before Christmas and it was a brilliant experience; they couldn't have been more helpful.
