Ideas for inexpensive knitwear (more context in post!)

Posted a while ago as I’m looking to replace hoodies/sweatshirts with knits - had some fantastic suggestions, but have now realised that the current is that I have very young children and just can’t wear any expensive knits whilst looking after them...

So, would love some ideas for knitwear - ideally throw on cardis that look fab but aren’t going to be damaged if they have to be washed (a lot!) due to little hands, milk, etc! Don’t want to spend a fortune on them really and am interested in vintage stuff, too, if anyone has ideas for reasonably priced things...

TIA x

M&S acrylic ones look like wool and wash well.

H&M is good for reasonably priced knitwear. I've bought a few items in the sale for no more than £10-£15.

A lot of their jumpers/cardigans have a small wool content and quite a lot of the stuff is made with recyclable materials. You can just throw them into the washing machine without worrying about ruining them.

Uniqlo merino wool knits.

Pretty much all of my favourite knits are from TK Maxx.

Size up in uniqlo, but they do lovely plain jumpers and cardies.

H&M jumpers and cardies and New Look both wash surprisingly well.

Most of my favourite knitwear is from charity shops though, can't wait for them to reopen.

Another vote for the M&S super soft knits. I’ve been living in them for WFH over the winter.

Be aware they can come up small in the jumpers (can’t comment on cardigan versions) . I’m a 12-14 and I’ve got them in 14 and 16
