Hi all, after losing control of my lockdown hair, was planning to take my DC wearing a paisley headscarf but am beginning to bottle it. Can someone please give me a confidence boost? Otherwise it will be a tatty beanie hat or the full non-hairstyle on show. Blush

Wearing it how, like the Queen or as a headband type thing?
Either way go for it Smile

LunaHeather · 07/03/2021 19:52

Is it a seriously posh school?

It's hair!

ShyCaz · 07/03/2021 19:55

Cocola, I was thinking tied at the back, covering most of my hair.

Sounds good, be confident. In the nicest way nobody really pays that much attention to other people 🙂

ShyCaz · 07/03/2021 20:04

I'll try to be Smile

I'd narrow it a bit otherwise it might be a bit HM Queen vibes. Although, I don't know where you are but it's pretty cold here first thing this week, maybe a beanie would be more suitable!

Hensintheskirting · 07/03/2021 21:31

Own it. What's the worst that can happen? Who really, honestly, cares. Will anyone actually remember?

ShyCaz · 07/03/2021 21:45

Dinosforall, point taken, I'm going for a trendier look.

Own whatever you choose. Who gives a fuck what other parents think? If they judge it's their problem, not yours. Why give that power to people who have no impact on your life? Fuck that for a game of soldiers. (School run mum who doesn't given a fuck and is judged on her appearance on a daily basis - "goth" make up day in day out for the past 15 years) ... it makes me feel good. I couldn't give a monkeys who wears make up or styles their hair on the school run from one day to the next. Water off a ducks back now when parents react to my appearance.

There are tutorials for cute and current ways to wear a head scarf- very popular at the moment as lots of people are hiding roots. Try Instagram or Pinterest for ideas. Don't over-think it, just do your hair and go.

LizzieMacQueen · 08/03/2021 07:25

With a matching face mask?

Wonder if there's a scarf tying tutorial where you get a combo face & hair tying style......

fireplaceburning · 08/03/2021 07:49

I'd go bobble hat as it's still a bit chilly here 🤣

Whatalottachocca · 08/03/2021 07:58

I don’t think anyone’s judging anyone’s hair at the moment. People have all sorts of half grown out colours and styles but I don’t really notice, whereas pre-Covid, I would. Don’t worry about it, you won’t be the only one. 😉

Cocolapew · 08/03/2021 11:30

Did you wear it @ShyCaz ?

Spudlet · 08/03/2021 11:32

I was wearing a bike helmet so no matter what you went for you will have been at least 150% more stylish than me Grin

LaTomatina · 08/03/2021 11:39

(Apologies in advance for missing the point of the thread) but with or without a bike, Spudlet? My child used to wear a bike helmet every day when he was 18 months and had no bike. I am slightly in love with the idea of a grown woman who does the same, even if she isn't using her bike that day...

Spudlet · 08/03/2021 11:42

With a bike Grin Although if I don’t get to see a hairdresser soon I might just start to wear it permanently...

Shinyletsbebadguys · 08/03/2021 11:44

I wouldn't worry wear the scarf and own it. To be fair (myself incuded ) every school mum i say this morning had roots and issues with their hair. Including the head mistress. Absolutely no judgement from anyone we are all in the same boat and were just grateful the DC were back at school (I swear most parents were skipping out of the gates after they dropped them) Grin

ShyCaz · 08/03/2021 12:19

Hi Cocolapew, I did wear it but began to feel a bit chilly as we arrived so put my hood up, which covered part of it. Grin

Cocolapew · 08/03/2021 14:08

Well done, sort of Grin

ShyCaz · 08/03/2021 14:19

Thanks! Grin
