Non-frumpy pleated school skirts

DD 14 mostly wears trousers to school but when it's warm she wears a skirt. Have you come across any non-frumpsville black school skirts? They must be pleated all round (although size of pleat isn't specified).

Does it need to be knee length or is she allowed a bit shorter?

Gap, Next and JL all do a drop waisted/ sewn pleat above the knee flippy skirt. They all seem to be OOS in the bigger sizes at the moment so I guess these are the popular ones at the moment
If you need a longer length look at Trutex. They do look frumpy on the website but the cut and fabric is so nice they look great on.

Thanks. Technically it should be 'on or near the knee' but in reality this doesn't seem to be followed, at least not for the older girls.
