Anyone tried Esalon?

I was thinking of giving this a go to achieve the right brown (with a hint of auburn) colour I'm looking to achieve. I just wondered if it was any good and worth the money?

I have. It was good - I was happy to pay the offer price but haven’t been able to justify paying the ongoing price (about £18?). But maybe if you have a very specific shade you’re going for, and they can do it, then it’s worth the ongoing cost.

Yes, waiting for my second delivery after deciding that embracing grey in lockdown wasn’t for me! I was really happy with it and it’s made my hair incredibly soft - much better than box dyes I’ve used in the past. This second lot hopefully will be tweaked a bit on the colour as the first was a little dark - I found communicating with them really good. I’ll be going back to a proper salon as soon as I can but as an emergency stop gap I think it’s a good option

I've been using it for over a year now and love it. Was finding it hard to get to a salon pre lockdown (single mum with a toddler who was going through a very clingy phase!). My hair is an auburn-blonde so I was worried it wouldn't go well but it was a great success!

Been using for about 5 years - my hairs in much condition than when I was using box dyes!
My hairs a coppery red , they are good at tweaking colour if you're not happy with it.

Thanks for the responses. This sounds positive. I'm going to give it a go I think. When the kids are back at school tomorrow I'll do it. I like that they tweak it. When I took a look I liked all the questions they ask. How quickly does it arrive?

Yes I used during the March to August period last year. It was fine...much better than an average box dye (obviously not as good as a salon if you're blond though). I went a darker shade during that time as I clearly couldn't hope to get my salon platinum colour from a home dye 🤣 It did the trick and stopped me from looking like a horror show!

YouAreYourBestThing · 07/03/2021 18:25

Oh...my only issue last year on my first order, was the time it took!! I think from memory it was about 8 weeks from ordering, but they did inform me of this, and it was due to every woman in the world it would seem, at the time, requiring boxed hair dyes! The shelves were empty in the shops, and we were at that point of almost needing to strip bark off the trees to use as loo roll...so it shouldn't be that bad now 🤣

Thesheerrelief · 07/03/2021 19:13

I would definitely upload pics - currently, and when hair was freshly salon dyed and a pic of what you want it to look like, if different.
I did it for two of my aunts during lockdown one (they struggle with online stuff) and one took a couple weeks to arrive. I think the frenzy of hair dying has passed now so it should be normal-ish arrival times! If it's your first order you have the option to pay a very small (like £2 or something iirc) rush fee

I have just used it, and it was so good! DH did the actual application (much more methodical than me), and I’ve been delighted!! I wish I had a before picture but I’ve only got an after. It’s taken years to get a salon to match my colour but this was easy. Browny, auburn sort of shade.

Fluffle55 · 08/03/2021 20:25

And it arrived within a week.

Fluffle55 · 08/03/2021 20:35

Considering I just did my roots, it was a really good match.

@zippyswife thanks! I wish I was more adventurous with it though. It’s been the same for 20 years!
