Can anyone point me to the perfect high quality sleeveless vest/basic??

I've been slowly curating my perfect wardrobe of lots of items that go together and are versatile.

I've identified a gap - I'm looking for a sleeveless/cami type top I can wear tucked into jeans with an open shirt, or that I can layer under knits. I am a teacher and it would be ideal if this item was not so revealing I could take off the knit/shirt if my classroom was roasting in summer. Ideally looking for one in white, one in a jewel colour and one dark grey.

Oh my god, I came across this label yesterday and am in love! The Becks cami is divine although a tad pricey...

Don’t laugh, but I’m going to recommend primark stretch fit vests. They come in a range of colours, wash brilliantly and the quality is as good as I’ve seen anywhere unless you want to spend at designer level. Certainly the best quality I’ve found in any high street brand and a tenth of the price. I will be stocking up when the stores reopen.

I hear you, I have some lovely thick ones from Banana Republic which are about 10 years old and can’t find an equivalent. The Jigsaw ones are too strappy to wear as stand alones for work. I need more tank top equivalent than a cami. The M&S one looks good though, but would prefer more colours.

Uniqlo might have something but I haven’t checked.

Thank you @ThisIsClare. TBH I struggle with the idea of buying a good quality cotton vest top at £30 when I can get a perfectly good one for less then £6. I have had my M and S white vest top for years, and it still looks new. I agree with Worldgonecrazy about Primark vest tops as well.

🙂 I have one of their white T-shirts, it’s excellent! Not see through at all and keeps its shape after being washed, two of my main gripes with white T-shirts in general. Saving up for some vests na layering tops now.

Kettlewell colours sell various vests and tops in many different colours. It’s designed for people who’ve ‘had their colours done’ and then can’t find clothes in the right colours on the high street. They do a v neck and a square neck vest as well as a camisole.
