Time to change from skinny jeans?

I'm getting a bit fed up of living in skinny jeans.
I think want I fancy may be girlfriend or mom (awful names). Can anyone recommend some please. I'm 5'4" size 10 but not skinny especially round the middle.

I’m going slim leg or slim bootcut.
Skinnies never looked very good on hardly anyone, they were just everywhere so it became normal.

I think this is 100% true. When I've bought mom jeans in the past when they first started appearing in the shops, I thought they looked ridiculous on me because I wasn't used to the new shape. Now I see it everywhere and on all sorts of different body types, I think it looks great.

I also decided it’s time for a change and have loved and admired mom jeans on others for a long time. I have diastasis recti after having kids so the buttons from mom jeans dig right into the thin sensitive tummy skin. Then I found these great stretch waist mom jeans very randomly from pull and bear

I’m 5 ft 6 and a size 8/10 and think (!!!) they look alright

I’ll be keeping my skinny’s too of course (m and s jeggings are amazing for another other diastasis tums out there !)

Bah @Boogiewoody I've only gone and bought those! And some pants Grin

Boogiewoody · 07/03/2021 13:47

@janaih you won't regret it! They're really good, I have muscular calves so sometimes slim or straight jeans just look like skinny on me but these don't touch my leg at all. They're nice and comfy round the waist too, no digging in. I'm getting a black pair too

501s all the way here. Flattering, versatile and the comfort compared to skinnies is blissful!

TeaAndBiscuitsAndWine · 21/03/2021 19:33

Ooh, have to try these if they are good for diastasis tums. It’s so depressing, was diagnosed with it (along with a small hernia), and seem to be expected to just live with it but I hate how it makes me look and feel.

Thomasina2021 · 21/03/2021 19:36

I really like mon jeans with like a polo neck body or close - fitting T shirt tucked in

I still wear skinny jeans sometimes too tho

Rollergirl999 · 21/03/2021 19:52

I don’t really like mom jeans. I like 501s or Gap Boyfriend jeans

Frazzledstar1 · 21/03/2021 19:55

I really want to be able to wear mom jeans but the high waist on them doesn’t flatter my shape at all. I’m a size 12 with a bloated mum tum and the ones I tried looked awful on me, made me look really chubby!

Indecisivelurcher · 21/03/2021 22:05

Ah I'm wondering what to get too, handy thread! I've been wearing slim fit straight leg to death for 3yrs. Can't see myself going back to skinnies now. But I'm not sure I can do ankle grazers or real high waist mum jeans. I like socks! And waterproof trainers! And my tee hanging out! But u want to be a bit more cool! I'm all confused...

QueenofTheCandles · 21/03/2021 22:20

I always think mom jeans make bums look really flat and wide... I’m going for dark coloured flares/boot cut.

nopuppiesallowed · 22/03/2021 12:20

I'm 5ft 3 inches, 53 kilo and usually size 8 - 10. I loved skinny jeans but now find some are just too constricting. High waists look good on me now I've worked out that I shouldn't do up my belt too tightly ( I know. I'm thick) but a slightly looser belt seems to make my mum tum less noticeable and makes me look smarter. I've discovered Lee Elly jeans and Lee Marion jeans size 28 waist 31 leg fit absolutely perfectly.
