The ordinary

Hi!

I know people have differing opinions on the ordinary but I was wondering for those who do rate it, what some of the most effective products are. I like that they seem to know their stuff and also like the price! Any recommendations?

Thanks Smile

As for skin care, I've tried a lot of their range over the last few years, it's really affordable so that's easy to do. The things I've stuck with are the Buffet and I the thicker of their hyaluronic acid options. I like their balm cleanser but it's very basic and going upmarket for that is something I prefer to treat myself to. Same for their toner. And I prefer Nivea blue tub over their balm moisturiser.

As for make up I've only tried their foundation during lockdown. I normally use Estee Lauder full coverage and I prefer The Ordinary so will be sticking with that.

Their squalane serum is really good.

I use the foundation after a make up artist recommended it.

Buffet, retinoid emulsion, AHA BA mask are the three I am never without.

I have heard really good things about their azelaic acid and I really want to try it but it is literally NEVER in stock when I try to get it!

I also like that they do rosehip oil for quite cheap as opposed to Trilogy rosehip oil and the like which is multiple times the price.

Tried a liquidy serum, I think it was HA + B5 and it gave me a terrible reaction! I do have really sensitive skin though.

Oh and I really wanted to try their squalane but I accidentally picked up the hemi-squalane and found it really strangely dry and gritty feeling. Was great on my hair though :)

I like the buffet and rose hip oil.

I like the Buffet and the foundation, except the colour I want hasn't been in stock for months. I also find Garden Of Wisdom a good alternative at the same price point. I use their Anti-ageing -equivalent of the buffet - and
both their Vit C serums.

Ah thanks guys, that's really helpful!

If the moisturiser I use has retinol it in, should I/can I, still use a retinoid serum or would that be pointless/too much?
