Has anyone used caster oil for eyebrow growth?

Just that really. I'm giving it a try starting today. I think I'm going to apply with an old mascara wand or cotton bud. My brows are becoming quite sparse, but they were already over plucked from the 90's Sad I want to see if I can thicken at all and then get a nice tint and threading when salons are back open.

Seriously don't bother. It doesn't work and STINKS. I get angry just thinking about how bad it smells.

BasicMadeira · 04/03/2021 20:04

I have fairly thin eyebrows and they are fair/ grey. I wanted to love castor oil but alas it did nothings for me. However now that I am not going anywhere or doing anything (ie no make up) I run it through my brows and lashes and it looks a little better and groomed. So if you have it use it but don't buy it.

I just got a tiny £2 bottle on etsy. I'll give it a go but not replace if I have no joy. I'm wondering if it's the right thing because it doesn't smell at all. I thought it was cheap compared to other places but put it down to the size.

I saw so many products that claim to grow brows I got a bit confused and didn't want to pay out a lot for something which wont work.

Yes,doesn't work

I have castor oil a big bottle from the continental supermarket near where i live. Its fantastic as a massage oil and moisturiser which is what it does for lashes and brows. It moisturises and protects them so in theory makes them in better shape because they are mositurised. They dont have magical growing properties though that the Internet claims.

I bought expensive(pure castor oil) not one bottle but fucking two in Holland and Barrett because the shop assistant told me how great it was, a total game-changer.
She must have seen me coming!!
It was a waste of money it did nothing to make my eyebrows grow. It only made my face greasy🙈🙈

ShaneTheThird · 05/03/2021 00:02

@ParkheadParadise the worst part of that is Holland and barratt prices 😭

Hadenough21 · 05/03/2021 00:05

Rapidbrow works (as does Rapidlash). Not cheap but the tube lasts quite a while and it does work, you just have to be consistent with it and patient.

Sonmi451 · 05/03/2021 00:08

I use castor oil a lot, and it doesn't smell at all, I'm curious about what would make it smell. I haven't heard of it promoting hair growth, but I have read that rosemary essential oil does, so maybe you could use the castor oil as a carrier?

lancs54 · 05/03/2021 00:30

Jamaican black castor oil works.

ZoobyZoobyDoo · 05/03/2021 09:14

I used fushi castor oil for a while and it worked well. Thank Ok about 4-5 months to really see a difference so, so you need to stick with it.

Livinthedream84 · 05/03/2021 09:32

my teenage daughter puts it on her eyebrows and eyelashes and swears by it lol. I have seriously bushy eyebrows already so havnt given it a try myself

optimistic40 · 05/03/2021 17:52

No, but on Amazon I bought something called Spectaclulash (works on brows too). My lashes are about a third again as long as they were, but it takes up to six weeks or so before you see it. Now I use it just a couple of times a week to maintain.

wizzywig · 05/03/2021 17:53

I used it on my eyelashes. My glasses lenses need constant cleaning as my eyelashes are so long

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 05/03/2021 18:26

I've just bought some for my hair, along with rosemary for the carrier....disappointed to hear it doesn't work on eyebrows Shock

Anotheruser02 · 05/03/2021 21:09

Thank you, I think I need to learn to paint them, I just ordered some Maybelline Brow Tattoo. I'll try one of the more expensive growth serums if that looks bad!

Could you get them done in a salon when they open up again?.

howsicklyarsekissy · 05/03/2021 21:15

My daughter uses it & it totally works! Her lashes are massive now to what they used to be. She is young though & 18 etc I keep thinking I would definitely try them but am a contact lense user & worried about the residue etc

Anotheruser02 · 05/03/2021 21:24

The hair is sparse, I want the area under the arch filled in where I do have patchy hair previously plucked from. They don't look bad with a tint and wax, but I want a new shape. I cba with microblading, the expense, the time that it looks to harsh for before calming down, the way the just look a little bit too perfect I like a few unruly strands.

i’ve been using it for a while (cheap jamaican black castor oil from ethnic beauty shop) and definitely notice a difference - eyelashes much longer and thicker, eyebrows have proper long regrowth but not quite as dense as the rest yet.

AnnieGetYourPun · 08/03/2021 20:44

Years ago. Didn’t work for me.

What does is the Vichy Eyes and Lashes Serum.

Has anyone used caster oil for eyebrow growth?
Anotheruser02 · 22/03/2021 13:38

hi just waking this thread up with an update. I looked into the growth serums and as the ones i saw said they were peptide serums i dug out an old bottle of The Ordinary Beffet which was a bit heavy for my greasy skin but I'd never thrown it away. I've been smudging it into my eyebrows for nearly a couple of weeks and i do believe I'm starting to see the arches slowly filling in, if it doesn't continue then I may invest in rapidbrow. in the pic i have brow mascara on just to highlight the growth as my browd are quite blond.
