Never had it before, but just thought bollocks and treated myself. I didn't get everything I wanted, because it would have come to over £300. Is it that good? I'm still going to be me underneath, so we shall see if you can polish a turd.

I am also a pale skinned red head and have really got on well with the eyeshadow palettes - I especially like Desert Haze, the pillow talk lipstick and gloss and the highlighter wand. I hope you enjoy your delivery when it arrives!

Melange99 · 04/03/2021 07:11

Hit and miss for me.

I hate Pillow Talk, made me look like a corpse. Don't like the concealer. Or the bronzer/highlighter palette. Or one of the foundations. I have had a few other meh bits too,

Like the blusher (I too worried about the fragility, like a PP. It has been fine. Nearly finished and will repeat buy.) Like the Hollywood Filter, mixed in with foundation or used sparingly on its own. Somebody on MN recommended a lipstick on a thread about Tilbury make up, mainly people dissing it. They said Glowing Jen lipstick was lovely. I bought it and it is now my favourite lipstick.

I don't know much about CT. I hate the tv ads, the Darlings, the packaging and the image of the range. It now seems really dated. But a couple of the things I will keep.

I read somewhere she has recently sold the company, but is still associated with it.

Twilightstarbright · 04/03/2021 07:15

I bought a beach stick recently and was impressed. I don't like cream blusher I have to put my fingers into the pot, and apart from Bars multiple they are surprisingly hard to find. The CT one goes on nicely and it's perfect for my three minute beauty routine with a toddler.

Izzy24 · 04/03/2021 07:19

Love Magic Cream

ElderMillennial · 04/03/2021 07:57

Oh I also have gracefully pink lipstick which I like but don't wear often and I got a couple of other lip products I haven't tried

I probably have a few bits to sell that I haven't opened as I won't use (came in a mystery box) so I might list those somewhere rather than than hoarding them...

Housewife2010 · 04/03/2021 10:20

For anyone tempted today, if you spend £110 on Charlotte Tilbury at Space NK you get a free Instant Palette in Stoned Rose worth £49. I have two of the Instant Palettes and they are excellent.

ElderMillennial · 04/03/2021 12:41

I have the stoned rose palette and it looks really nice though I haven't used it yet as it's too pretty!

BusterGonad · 04/03/2021 14:10

I want the Stone Rose face palette.

MadisonMontgomery · 04/03/2021 14:58

Everything I’ve tried of hers has been nice, and she does 20% off for NHS staff which brings the price down a bit!

BigButtons · 04/03/2021 15:19

I tried the kohl eyeliner years ago. It was seriously the most rubbish and smudgy eyeliner I have ever bought.

seensome · 04/03/2021 15:44

I like the skincare, the face cream, I will repurchase, the brighter lipsticks such as hot Emily and lost cherry suit me well, pillow talk didn't do any for me. Im light skinned. Don't get the hype with Hollywood flawless filter and the eyeshadows are nothing special.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 04/03/2021 16:15

I love love love the lipsticks, I actually find pillow talk suits me, and another one called amazing grace which is a nice peachy colour. I also like the eyeshadow quads, I have pillow talk and exaggereyes (not sure on the spelling of that one!) and they are both really lovely. I also really rate the Hollywood flawless filter!

JinglingHellsBells · 04/03/2021 16:22

I got a free sample of Pillow Talk from J Lewis when it first launched and hated it- far too dark and added years to my face.

3babylady · 04/03/2021 17:27

Love everything she has except her magic creams the smell is very floral and strong and not my cup of tea, concealer, foundation, eyes and blush are some of the best make up I own though,

Confusedandshaken · 04/03/2021 17:44

I bought quite a bit when they launched here. I used most things a couple of times and then threw them away when they dried out a couple of years later. In fact the only thing I didn't dispose of was the Amazing Grace lipstick and that's largely because Grace is my daughter's name! I found most of it too heavy to wear comfortably.

Number3BigCupOfTea · 04/03/2021 17:47

One thing id never do, from any brand, is get a mystery box. Id expect every single thing to be wrong!

Housewife2010 · 04/03/2021 18:21

I love the Glowing Jen lipstick. It's a gorgeous wearable tawny rose in fabulous leopard print packaging. I also repeat buy the Pillow Talk liner but found the Pillow Talk lipstick very unflattering. I have two of the Instant Palettes and find them very good value and excellent for travelling. ( I also bought the Beauty Pie dupe but it didn't compare).

ElderMillennial · 04/03/2021 19:02

Nice to know @Number3BigCupOfTea Grin

Mummaofboys93 · 04/03/2021 19:06

I don't think CT warrants the price tag tbh. It's not terrible but definitely over priced imo.

ElderMillennial · 04/03/2021 19:19

But isnt this probably true of most "high end" brands? Some brands do some things well and there is some subjectivity involved and the rest of it is often quite average but a lot of cosmetics are expensive for what they are.

I have read CT is nothing a very nice person to work for though.

I have the refillable lipstick, with the jaguar on the copper tube. I think its linked to a charity donation. Tis a thing of great beauty, sometimes I just sit and look at it! Grin

MrsDThomas · 04/03/2021 20:25

I would love to try it but its so expensive. But im a bit meh about buying expensive make up. Ive tried it and i have never thought “wow”.

Last week I was given a Mac eyeliner from my friend. She never used it. Already the writing has vanished off the pencil. Its non recognisable. And its nothing special. And i have a Primark one with the writing on the pencil snd has staying power.

This is why im resisting.

happytobemrsg · 04/03/2021 21:56

I bought loads of CT recently. Out of it I really like the light weight foundation mixed with a little flawless filter (better for spring/summer though). Not too keen on the concealer or pillow talk blush unfortunately.

Mummaofboys93 · 04/03/2021 22:14

@ElderMillennial

I suppose yes you're correct, but overall I think for me personally CT has more misses than anything & considering at who she is you'd think it would always be at least worth it's price tag. But that is just me personally, I own a lot of makeup from cheap high street to much more expensive higher end stuff & I think for me it just misses the mark.
