Dermalogica Active Moist - now have older skin

Dermalogica Active Moist has been great for my part dry part oily skin for about 20 years. Now I'm in my 40s I have found I need to add a little bit of body moisturiser in to stop my skin from feeling tight.

I still get tiny whiteheads around my mouth and chin. Probably one or two every couple of weeks. So I'm reluctant to go too dry skin moisturising. I also have massive pores on my nose! I occasionally get proper spots too. Maybe 1 every month or so.

What should my next step be in terms of moisturiser evolution? I use Dermalogica multivitamin power firm for my eyes and it's excellent for fine lines. I'm a little bit reluctant to go full anti aging incase it's comedogenic. Many thanks.

Hi.
The thing with Dermalogica is that they face map you which gives a good idea about the condition of your skin. It splits into specific areas. I've had monthly Dermalogica facials for years and I highly recommend them. Before any treatment starts my skin is mapped and products chosen accordingly. If you go on their website you can facemap onliine.
There's stuff I rebuy all the time as basics which work well for me - PreCleanse, Special Cleansing Gel and Multivitamin Powerfirm. As my lockdown routine has expanded I've stopped using their moisturisers and moved to other brands. Their Age Smart range is really good though, nourishing and is for 40+.
I recommend so get your face mapped and see what happens. And, when permitted, have a prescription facial. 90 minutes of pure heaven.
PS put PowerFirm on your lips and surrounding skin. Was a gamechanger for me.

Love the tip about powerfirm round my lips thank you! My usual Dermalogica salon closed at the start of Covid and won't be reopening so I've been getting by for about a year and my face is now at crisis point! I did find a free sample of the skin smoothing cream which didn't need extra lotion with it. I will need to find a new salon eventually though!

I do have the precleanse and the special cleansing gel. I only really use the precleanse when I wear makeup and I've not been doing that in lockdown. Would using that again help do you think?

I can't wait for my salon to reopen. My facials bring me so much joy. Sounds daft but true.
My routine used to be all Dermalogica but I've done a lot of reading over the last year and so have introduced different brands, especially now I've got into retinol, vit C etc.
I don't wear make-up but the PreCleanse feels so different to Special Cleansing Gel and allows for facial massage which gets the blood pumping. Helps removing SPF too.
I've got a good evening routine going. Starts in the bath with the double cleanse and maybe exfoliation (Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant) then after the bath with retinol, HA and face oil. Helps me relax after a long day.
