Cosmetics counters post lockdown 12 April

So, if non-essential stores open next month, anyone got any info on what will happen to trying on make up at the counters?

I haven't bought any new make up for ages other than replacing what I use, buying online. But I want to test a couple of new foundations- maybe Dior or E Lauder and I'd need colour matching.

I assume it will still be shopping with masks on, and the assts will give you samples to try? (As they do anyway but usually after a swatch test.)

I was literally just thinking this!! In desperate for a new foundation but don’t want to order blind. Have got some samples off eBay from Charlotte Tilbury and Lancôme but it’s not a very cost effective way of doing things.

If you fancy Bobbi Brown they do refunds on all foundation @SmidgenofaPigeon (I have returned some and it's fine!) and they do offer online video consultations.

I am using BB at the moment (Skin Foundation) but it's very light and I use 2 applications to get some coverage. I'd also like something with a higher spf for summer (though do use spf under make up anyway) and wanted to try the EL new one (in a tube.)

I definitely could look at Bobby Brown, thanks! There’s a Space NK round the corner from my work that are open for click and collect, they used to be fab about giving samples but obviously probably not right now. I’ve been to Boots before to be ‘colour matched’ but I got cross because they said I had a sallow complexion and I didn’t think that was very nice or accurate 😂

Was using Max Factor but I’m older now so I think I want to invest in something a bit more grown up.

Yes do try the B Brown and they are good at refunds- no problems.

I like Boots Hydraluminous BUT the colour range is limited. Porcelain is too light and the next shade up is quite pink and doesn't work for me, although I've bought it twice to try. Such a shame as it's lovely otherwise.

Space NK let me try out some foundations before Christmas when they were last open. Had to do it all myself on little disposable applicators but it actually worked quite well I thought! Would recommend trying there if you can
