Lumea Advice

Can anyone advise me on an issue I'm having with my Lumea? I've been using it since September and have great results with my legs and bikini line - really happy, very minimal regrowth between treatments, no plans to go back to waxing.

The problem is with my underarms. I'm getting nowhere near the results there that I do elsewhere. While there's a definite reduction (sparser hair, grows more slowly), I still need to shave 2-3 times per week. Plus - it is a lot more uncomfortable to use there than elsewhere, verging on painful, which again is very different to the other areas I treat. I'm using it on level 5, which is appropriate to my fair skin and dark hair, and is what I use on my legs and bikini line. I know I could turn it down to minimise the discomfort, but if I don't get the results on Level 5, does this make it pointless?

I'm on the verge of giving up using it on my underarms and just going to back to shaving, but before I do - am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick I'm missing? It is worth sucking it up and doing another bootcamp on them? Any advice would be very welcome!

When I first started using it I used level 5 on legs, arms and bikini but had to use a lower level on underarms as it was too painful. I found that using a lower level had a slower result but I was using it properly and thoroughly as the pain was manageable. Now when I do top ups I’m at a level 5. I’d suggest trying a lower level and maybe going back to the bootcamp.

Are you doing your underarms last? I find the unit heats up as I use it so I try to do the most sensitive areas first before it gets too hot.

I would turn it down a bit and keep going. I've had mine a long time - 2 years plus? - and do find results in different areas vary, so my legs, feet and upper lip have been brilliant, my stomach and underarms pretty good, and my cheeks and throat are a work in progress.
