Shoes at work in a school in Spring/Summer

I never get this right! I am management in a school so some teaching little ones but also need to look professional and smart-ish. I wear lots of dresses, skirts and fitted jumpers etc and in winter I find it easy with black tights and heels or boots but in spring/summer I never look right. I’m 5’3 and slim - I find little ballet pumps make me a bit stumpy. At the weekend I wear light trainers or flip flops but obviously they’re not ok at work. Help!

For example, I have this skirt which I plan to wear with a white top/blouse when it’s warm, but which shoes? Thanks if you can help!

I usually wear low wedges, pumps or espadrille type flats

Brogues in a light colour with a slight heel?

Which shops would you both go to for those? I feel confident with clothes shopping but never know where to go for shoes!

I am also SLT in a primary school. I wear Clark’s Hamble Oak brogues. I have them
In different colours! I had some great sandals from Clark’s a few years ago that had a closed toe. They stopped doing them which is very annoying.

I have brogues @yellowsun but they’re black - had never thought I could wear tan ones with a skirt? Will look at Clarks.

It’s the closed toe I’m looking for - don’t want open toe sandals.

I’m SLT in a secondary, but also have quite a big teaching table. I have these Dune Chanel dupes in a few colours and they’re perfect, and very comfortable

I’m a size 9 which makes things a bit more tricky. When is gets very warm I do wear sandals with open toes - www.moshulu.co.uk/product/wasabi-strappy-leather-sandals-1204#?variant=1
They are very secure and comfy. Perhaps not very stylish or attractive to some but fine for work

loafers

I often wear brogues but also have these from M&S, which are comfy. The tan can look a bit granny but I love them!

My first thought was Fly Yunas:

They are very comfortable, but give you a bit of height, and come in lots of colours (the red ones would look great with that skirt). They are normally quite expensive, but you can often get them in some sale or other for about £40-50, and unused ones come up from time to time on eBay.

mumtoboyscanterbury · 01/03/2021 08:54

Oh I like those @VanillaAndOrange - will look out for sales.
