Purple hair dye

Last year I dyed my hair purply pink using directions hair dye (cerise). The colour looked great but it faded so quickly. Can anyone recommend a brand of brightly coloured hair dye that lasts a bit longer? I don't really want to bleach my hair first because I'm too scared to do it at home.

No bright dye lasts very long I'm afraid. The key to getting them to last longer is co washing with cold water. I've found directions to be the best out of the direct dye brands.

Oh that's a shame. Do you have to wash with ice cold water or would luke warm be OK? I normally have the water pretty hot so that could be a reason why it didn't last very long.

Try Artic Fox, has real staying power!

Has anyone tried Drop It by Shrine? I'm tempted

Arctic Fox and Lunar Tides are the best brands I've tried for longevity and for not transferring to clothing etc.

Was purple for 3 years so tried almost all the brands out there. Directions and Manic Panic are cheap and cheerful but just don't work as well.

Thanks for the replies, thinking about trying the lunar tides plum purple colour

I've used the Shrine drops, @ineedaholidayandwine. I bought the purple but it was much more pink. I think they now do a set with the "purple" and some blue in a box, so you can mix to your desired shade. It didn't last very long. I dyed my hair of Day Two of hotel quarantine, and was blonde again when I got released thirteen days later. I didn't even wash much while I was in isolation, so. Am attaching a picture so you can see the colour.

Most simply, if you want to maintain bright colour, just add some to your conditioner. The shrine drops are very good for this, since they're so concentrated. I just emptied a third of the bottle into my conditioner and mixed it up. Washed hair as normal.
