Dyson Airwrap - Which model?

KillerFlamingo · 27/02/2021 11:18

Does anyone have any experience with the long-barrel Airwrap please?
If so, would it work fine with shorter hair too?

My hair is currently just below shoulder length but I'd like it longer again in the future. I am however, very bad at using stylers and worry that the longer model might be even trickier. Blush
Any opinions which would be best please?

I have the long air wrap, I love it. If you want hair long in the future you will need the long.

I think it will work on shoulder length hair also as the only difference is the length compared to the standard. So will do the same job but is longer length so more hair can wrap around it, if you don't have the length of hair to wrap around it will still work on the bits you do wrap around what ever the length of hair, if that makes sense.

You can also buy any extra attachments from the website for £30.

@KillerFlamingo My hair is bra strap length and I have the long barrels. I bought it as a set, not as extra barrels and I am assuming that usually the shorter barrels fit into the lovely box it comes in. Mine don't as they are too tall to stand up so I have to lie them down.

However, I have removed one of the straightening brushes as I prefer the other one and I have removed the narrow barrels. I lay the wider barrels down in such a way as I know which is for which side.

I got mine in November and I absolutely love it. It can take some getting used to with products that help hold the curl or wave as it is at a lower temperature than a curling wand. It is still hot though, just nowhere near as hot a the curling wand.

I think the video that helped me the most was one which is the full review of the product but I have time stamped it at the curling bit. This is a perfect description of how to use it correctly. There are lots of videos of people slating it and they are not using it the right way.

I don't section my hair, I just do exactly what Fleur does with hers, curl a bit then grab the next section.

I used to be really rubbish at making my hair look good but this has been a game changer, not just the curling but using the flat brush too.

@BettyBeStillNow, that's brilliant, thanks so much!
DH wants to get me one for my birthday which is lovely but he's agonising over which one and I'm afraid I'll make the wrong choice or be rubbish at using such an expensive and generous gift. The video looks really helpful. Smile

@KillerFlamingo I wanted one for my birthday but I wanted to try it first in John Lewis then covid happened so in the end Dh just bought it for me as an early Christmas gift as I dithered so much.

I bought it direct from Dyson for the 30(?) day trial meaning I could return it if needed. I watched so many videos on it. Plus because it was lockdown no one saw my 80s perm that happened with the narrow barrels. DH and I laughed so hard. I looked like an extra on Dallas.

On that video I linked it shows that your hair needs to be almost dry. I can do each side in 5 rolls but my hair is much longer than yours and fits comfortably on the barrel if I divide it into 5.

It is far easier than holding your arm over your head with a curling wand, well it is for me.

I'm sure qvc sell them. You can return with them if you don't like it. Can't remember how long but defo minimum of a month but I think it might be longer.
