I've never tried any of those boxes and I daren't look into them Grin

Popped into the office very early this morning for the first time since December. Was meant to have left before people started coming in. Fail! It was so lovely to see some colleagues Smile

Back at my desk at home now. Wearing leggings and a long sweater that I found in the long-forgotten ironing pile at the weekend. I'm looking a bit matronly I think!

Hi all!

Oh good luck with the stitch fix box @poorremus! Hope you get some lovely things. I've had mixed results with them. But some nice things, including my current rain coat.

Here I am in boring outfit again! The jeans are the same as yesterday. The jumper is a new one from Fruit of the Loom!

I like your office outfit @StCharlotte. Glad it was nice to see some colleagues Smile

Hi everyone, glad you got to see some colleagues by accident StCharlotte . I'm in a boring outfit too - its snowing here again. Camouflage utility tousers from Cecil with Uniqlo thermals underneath, big fluffy jumper from George at Asda Grin Not really worth a picture but I haven't posted one in a while.
DD has been sewing a lot and offered to make me a wrap skirt as I liked one she made herself. Ive ordered some khaki green cotton fabric... Will post pictures when it's done - I've said if its good she can make me more things and I can pay her in the same amount of fabric again for herself... Grin

Long time lurker, but never posted as I barely wear anything that isn't loungewear these days. However I actually got dressed today, so basic band tee, skinnies and a black cardigan!

Welcome @peboh Smile. You look great! I love seeing all the different looks on here and selfishly, I especially like seeing casual ones, as I really only wear casual clothes myself at the moment.

@UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme, oh god snow!! I keep thinking winter is gone and then it's nloody freezing again. Went out today with just a jumper and no coat and it was too cold for that. Boo. But I also like you warm casual look! I need to invest in good thermals for next winter. I refuse to buy them now, as I'm determined to believe spring is here!

Looking forward to seeing your new skirt! That's great she can make clothes! What a great skill to have.

I am pretty happy with the Stitchfix box - I specified casual things. These jeans are a bit on the tight side but that is my only quibble with what they sent. I LOVE this jumper and the top is very flattering indeedGrin

Ha ha- excuse the mess Grin

ParisJeTAime · 17/03/2021 17:37

Oh nice @poorremus! Maybe the jeans will stretch out a bit? They often do IME. They look great in the pics anyway.

I do NOT need a Stitch Fix box though, (I am saying this to myself)!!!

Still haven't got some trousers I'm expecting fro Lucy and Yak, I've just realised... might have to check on that.

Wow poorremus those look great, especially the jeans and that jumper.

I'm expecting four things today and I'm very excited. In the dying days of my wfh, these will be be my online ordering swansong (who am I kidding?!).

ParisJeTAime · 18/03/2021 09:26

Ah same @StCharlotte! I am waiting for two pairs of trousers to try on, from L&Y and that is it.

After The Great Loft Purge, all of my clothes are in my actual bedroom, for the first time in my adult life. I have just my small wardrobe and one drawer for gym kit and PJs and that is it! So, feeling quite Halo in a way, BUT, there is no getting away from the fact I have been buying a lot recently. But, honestly, I was in need of some new things, as I've had to get rid of a lot, which either doesn't fit or is tattered.

Anyway, here I am in leggings; but, I wanted to post a pic, as they are new. Just from M&S's activewear line and I'm really impressed actually. I actually prefer them to the Lululemon ones I bought recently, (and then realised too late that they were too big, so I'm now having to donate them). I have only used these M&S ones once, for an online class this morning, but so far think they're great. Wearing with a top, also from M&S active range and the same jumper as yesterday over the top.

I used to post on the other thread hut went through a phase of not being able to bear looking at pictures of myself... I'm still not feeling especially positive but today is the first day in a while that I've bothered to put proper trousers on as opposed to joggers, so yay me, I suppose.

I don't like the size I am at the moment but I'm determined not to let it stop me from wearing things I like. So here I am in Sainsbury's kick flare jeans and a light Paul Smith jumper.

ParisJeTAime · 18/03/2021 09:37

Ah @JimmyJabs!!! What?! You look great! You have a lovely figure with great proportions.

I'm not feeling my best though at the moment either, so I get it. But, I definitely find a good wardrobe helps with my confidence and motivates me more to make healthier choices. A wardrobe full of clothes which don't fit or make me feel shit....that way, bingeing lies for me Sad.

@JimmyJabs fab jumper and your jeans are exactly the style I always looking for! You look greatSmile

Agreed.

I always found bootcut trousers really flattering.

(So why am I not buying into them again now? Hmm)

JimmyJabs · 18/03/2021 09:58

Now I remember why I like posting on here! Thanks all, I love flares and bootcuts and have been itching for them to come back around. After almost 15 years of skinnies, I think we're overdue some nice flappy ankle fabric.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 18/03/2021 10:03

Casual today, got this top off amazon, it has thumb holes! Grey jeggings that dont stay up well, dont think I will ever be a convert.

Plus size chat / what are you wearing today sort of thread 2!
StCharlotte · 18/03/2021 10:32

Stick with them LivingDeadGirlUK - I think the jeggings really suit you. And I like the top.

ParisJeTAime · 18/03/2021 11:55

I love tops with thumb holes @LivingDeadGirlUK. I have one for running when it's cold.

Jeggings falling down is a pain. Could they be a bit too big maybe? Or maybe a belt if they have belt loops. Or yeah, give up on the jeggings if all else fails! I love my straight leg jeans now. They have some stretch but also belt loops and enough stiffness that they feel like jeans rather than jeggings.

Might even post a second pic today, as I've done some yoga and a spin bike session (in front of Star Wars 🤓), so need a shower and change of clothes.

OP posts:
UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 18/03/2021 12:02

LivingDeadGirlUK I love the top with thumb holes! My winter coat has thumbholes (its really a snowboarding coat) and they're very comforting somehow! I like the colour too. I'm not a leggings fan either, except as thermals - my uniqlo heattech leggings are the only ones I wear, under jeans or walking trousers (that would stop them falling down if they were inclined to) or as sleepwear or occassionally to lounge in after a long walk or a bath. I don't really understand the legging/ jeggings love either as I always feel they aren't as secure as jeans or proper trousers and wouldn't want to leave the house in them! Its a body shape thing though probably!

JimmyJabs hello! I'm a bootcut fan too - I have two pairs from Next. I love that jumper, and Paris is right - you have a great hourglass figure - lucky you!

poorremus I like both tops definitely!

Paris - you can wear leggings with your shape lucky you, they're pretty too Smile

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 18/03/2021 12:37

waves at alphaechokiwi and peboh whom I missed out sorry! I didn't start reading far enough back! You both look great too!

I got a delivery today which I ordered six weeks ago - I've had it with Next.de now - they promise "shipped from Berlin" but actually it seems that's only to avoid customers being put off by customs charges and most stuff seems to be shipped from the UK to Berlin after you order, then reshipped within Germany! The waiting time is ridiculous... So I won't order from them again in a hurry, though I like the range (they sell lots of other UK brands on their website) and how easy returns are (even though they take a while to acknowledge recept and refund). Next bootcut jeans fot me really well though, . Hmm.

I had a hankering for a denim skirt which might be work suitable (support worker not office work) and think this fits the bill - I am impressed with the pockets Blush Its a Next label mix LF markey denim skirt, and a monsoon denim dress.

Oh, I like the skirt and dress @UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme! Annoying about the long wait for them, but they are lovely. I especially love the dress.

I dabbled with bootcut jeans (again) recently, but in the end found the clung in the wrong places on me. I like them a lot on other people though.

I did get changed but into such a boring outfit it isn't worth posting a pic!

OP posts:
JimmyJabs · 18/03/2021 13:15

I'm not into leggings on me at all - I really don't like the way they show my every bump. I can see that they'd be good for running, if I was capable of running at the moment 😁

StCharlotte · 18/03/2021 13:47

Love that denim dress UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme

I too have a new Monsoon dress which I got in their sale. Not a great picture but it feels really classy. I bought it for work but I'm now wondering whether it might work for a couple of weddings later in the summer... Ignore the clown feet!

The jumper (White Stuff) was a surprise. I thought it was just below waist length. It's not on their site anymore but it was modelled with a pair of wafty culottes. It had a French tuck but even so! Now I've accepted it as a new tunic top rather than a short jumper, I'm going to keep it as it's cotton and feels lovely and I think it will become a wardrobe casual workhorse.

Also got some new shorts which I like but no one needs a picture of that Grin

Oh yes, that dress is lovely too Charlotte! I think definitely wedding appropriate too.

I also think the jumper is great on you. It is definitely tunic length. Damn you White Stuff and your website of lies! But I actually think it's a lovely length on you.

My L&Y trousers are here, but I'm not ready to try them on yet. I think I got a bit carried away with my workouts earlier and now I'm meant to be studying, but instead, I'm mumsnetting, watching Mary Berry on iplayer and half asleep! Stupid exercise Wink
