How to give my makeup staying power?

My makeup always looks like it is barely there a few hours after putting it on. I sometimes work 10 hours straight and would love for my makeup to still be there. Please hit me with what you do to give your makeup staying power.

We used to spray our faces with hairspray. This was the 90's though so you may want to ignore me 🤣

Are you using a decent primer and a setting powder?

I use Estée Lauder Doublewear foundation with their primer underneath. I use loose powder on the top. That lot would last 24 hours! I have oily skin and a scar so I need decent coverage.

With lipstick, use a matte lipstick and some lip liner. I used to do two layers of lipstick with a dab of loose powder in between but I found it too drying. Now I just choose a matte lipstick.

Mac Fix+ Prep & Prime spray - one or two squirts over a made up place will do the trick

And for lipstick - Lipcote over the top and it’ll stay for ages.

If you are dehydrated your skin will take water from your face/makeup so perhaps drink more to compensate - if you are also using primer etc. Worth a try😊

I swear by a good primer I use Bobbi Brown face base & then a good powder atm I am using Too Faced born this way & then a setting spray Urban Decay all nighter is really good. As someone else mentioned a lip liner & matt lipstick is your friend! I use liquid matt lipsticks. Huda Beauty or Jeffree Star are top of my list for staying power especially the Jeffree Star ones!

I never touch up my makeup throughout the day but I am a full coverage person which I also think is what helps with my makeup lasting as if I wear anything light coverage it definitely doesn't ever last as long.

I like the Caudalie Beauty Elixer as a setting spray.

Urban Decay All Nighter is my setting spray of choice, nothing else comes close to it for me! I know a lot of people swear by Mac Fix+ but it's never really done it for me so maybe you should try a couple and see what works for you.
