L'Occitane Almond range of products has a beautiful scent.

I learned of the L'Occitane almond shower oil on Mumsnet. It's a real treat.

L'Occitane are constantly releasing new fragrances in perfume form.

Why do they not do the Almond scent in a perfume / eau de toilette. ?

I've never forgiven them for discontinuing the almond hand wash.

@GCAcademic

I've never forgiven them for discontinuing the almond hand wash.
Me neither!
GCAcademic · 24/02/2021 13:43

Why do companies do that? Why is it always the best product that they discontinue?

I love this entire range. The shower oil is the business and I love the milk veil moisturiser too. It’s my absolute favourite, but £40odd for a body moisturiser is too much for me to spend, even to ask for it on a birthday. My limit is about £20 I think (I love the 200ml/g Rituals Sakura whipped body soufflé for about £18 - completely different scent, but I love that too).

Are there cheaper alternatives in an almond scent?

LadyEloise · 24/02/2021 15:40

Cheaper alternative to the body lotion would be the Aveeno Creamy oil @WellTidy
Be warned -it's not the same. Sadbut it is cheap and nice.
I went looking for an almond handwash on their website today and was surprised there wasn't one.
With all the hand washing due to Covid it is remiss of them not to sell it.
Why !!!
I think L'Occitane though is very overpriced- their hand creams smell gorgeous but they certainly aren't heavy duty. I have dreadful hands and am using the L'Occitane Citrus Verbena gel hand cream in the tiny tube for almost €10. Smells fab but not doing a lot for my hands.

I will look out for that, thanks Lady

I didn't like the almond at first (was bought it as a gift), but by the time I'd got to the and of the bottle, I loved it. I'm currently using the almond bath milk, which smells amazing. In the summer, I'll swap for lavender and verbena baths though.

The L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil is also excellent as a foaming bath oil. I tend to buy the large size when it's on offer. They do a refill pouch too.
