Recommendations please. Everything - from Olaplex to Kerastase appears to have it in!

If you want to check use Curlsbot.com just cut and paste the ingredients list (eg from Tesco's online etc and put into it. It will tell you if gave them without having to peer any teeny writing on the bottle.

Agree with the Faith in Nature response too ..love them

Dragonglass · 22/02/2021 20:28

Alberto balsam. Cheap and pretty good.

Bigfatspiders · 22/02/2021 20:31

Shea moisture, cantu, faith in nature, tresemme botanique, only curls, as I am.

Turtles45 · 22/02/2021 20:42

Wow sorry mega link!

Gloomandglow · 22/02/2021 21:01

Xhc banana conditioner from Poundland or the almond garnier one.

Feedingthebirds1 · 22/02/2021 23:08

A lot of the Garnier conditioners are silicon free, including all of these:

StepOutOfLine · 23/02/2021 06:31

Does Garnier hair food range have it?
DD does curly girl and rates that highly. I bought her the Shea Moisture set at Christmas and it's good, but not quite as good as hair food (papaya)

StepOutOfLine · 23/02/2021 06:32

@Feedingthebirds1 has answered my question.
That range is excellent.

Lilypad78 · 23/02/2021 16:58

Maui. I have only tried the purple shea butter one, which is lovely, but I think the whole range is silicone free.

cannaethink · 23/02/2021 17:49

L’Oréal elvive extraordinary clay conditioner is silicone free too.

Barracker · 23/02/2021 23:16

Garnier hair food.
The banana is lovely, and the papaya also.

LunarCatAndDaffodils · 24/02/2021 00:06

Faith in Nature

MNBookNerd · 24/02/2021 03:26

Noughty shampoos are sulphate and silicone free. There’s a decent range to suit different hair types and is available from Superdrug and Sainsbury’s as well as their own site. Also recommend Maui... I like the pink moisturising one and have long straight hair.

Foresttheout · 24/02/2021 07:21

The cantu range is good and reasonably priced, as is garnier hair food. Shea moisture has a lot of fans but I wasn't convinced it was worth the price however it is worth a try.

Foresttheout · 24/02/2021 07:24

Sorry ignore my bit about shea moisture i'm not in the UK and didn't realise how expensive it was here compared to there. Its 3x the price of cantu for me but seems similar in price in the UK so definitely worth a try

FuckingHateRats · 24/02/2021 07:48

I am sure Alberto Balsam has silicone in it?

I use two, and they're both v v cheap. One is the 80p own bottle from Wilko (apple and tea tree, or raspberry), the second is the fruity extracts conditioner from Superdrug (usually on offer for £1.50ish). Have tried a lot -curly girl method here - and they're the best for me.

FuckingHateRats · 24/02/2021 07:49

Oh, and the almond crush Garnier one. It's amazing.

VallarMorghulis · 24/02/2021 07:54

Aldi coconut conditioner, no silicones and cheap as chips!

Dilbertian · 24/02/2021 08:00

That curlsbot link is so useful! Through it I found, for the first time, a suitable fragrance free range! Unfortunately only available in the USA at over $20 a bottle. Ho hum.

The best compromise I have found so far is the Waitrose Pure range. Silicone-free, but contains the wrong sort of alcohol.

CaptainWentworth · 24/02/2021 09:09

I picked up some Love Beauty and Planet shampoo and conditioner on offer in Sainsbury’s this week which says it’s silicone free- I’ve seen it in Boots and other supermarkets as well.

I think some of the Umberto Giannini range is silicone free as well (definitely some of the curly hair ones)

binkyblinky · 24/02/2021 15:54

Body Shop shampoos are free from lots of stuff !
