Pared back lockdown "style."

Anyone else done this? I really cannot be arsed with making much effort, but doing nothing at all makes me depressed whenever I catch sight of my reflection. These are the little things I've been doing that help but require minimal effort:

  • Perfume. A squirt or two of something nice every day. I have lots of perfumes but I usually save them for "best". Stopped doing that as there is no best anymore and a nice scent helps my mood.
  • nice tops. My lower half is always in joggers or leggings, with slippers, but I vary the tops, choosing flattering ones in nice colours and resisting the urge to just wear my large warm hoody every day.
  • earrings. I'm rotating my collection so I wear a different pair every day. Some of them barely see the light of day usually so it's good for them all to get a turn.
  • eyebrows. I can't be bothered with the faff of putting on make up, - and worse, taking it off - but my overly plucked 90s eyebrows are pathetic, so putting on a bit of brow mascara gives my whole face more structure.
  • glasses. I only put my lenses now if I'm going somewhere where I'll have to wear a mask, as my glasses steam up. With them on it gives my face that extra structure which make up usually provides. I'm pale with light coloured lashes and eyebrows, though dark hair weirdly, so tend to just look faded and tired without makeup. My glasses are quite large tortoiseshell ones, and just seem to compensate for that.

I'm rather liking this new look. I'm aware I look less "pretty" than I do when I make a proper effort, but I think I look more interesting this way.

Anyone else have a new lockdown look they're enjoying?

Very similar to me OP. And I love that feeling at the end of the evening when I remember apart from a nice cleanse and moisturise there's no faff of removing make up Grin

I've another accessory which I've got more from necessity .. a pretty glasses string! Yea it's old lady-ish but I started a new job before Christmas and was sick of taking my specs on and off then losing them or finding the arms getting loose and I was being a bit careless resulting in a few small scratches on the lenses.

I found a really pretty chain on Etsy ... £13 delivered so really happy with it. It feels like another piece of jewellery and helps distract from the horror of my make up free face!

I'm after a very fine, tortoise shell one now.

I like the idea of a glasses string - it has retro appeal - but I'm really shortsighted (-12.5) so never take my glasses off except to go to sleep, put lenses in or get in the shower.
