I can’t decide between a yellow or bright blue coat- think waterproof, hood and big pockets. It would be for daily walks. I’m approaching half a century so obvs can’t be trusted to make this decision myself....

Plain yellow? I feel that’s rather dull..you should get something like Queen Margrethe’s errr, vibrant number!

(I love our Queen of Denmark, she’s fab and a big lover of bright outfits!)

I bought the Regatta coat in mustard (below) which is absolutely lovely and I was so pleased with it...until it snowed and I wore it with black wellies. I happened to glance down and was struck by the realisation that I looked like a fisherman. I haven't felt the same about it since!

It’ll be useful if anyone wants an IT themed dress up day too!

Yellow coats were definitely 'in' about three years ago. I remember going into London one day and suddenly seeing a lot of very fashionable people wearing bright yellow. It was as though they'd been sent a message the rest of us missed.

@JMAngel1

I think the yellow coat trend stemmed from that Welsh drama - can’t remember it’s name now but it was really good. Not sure yellow rain coats were ever ‘in’ but if you love it and the colour suits you, why not?
Was it Keeping Faith?

Yellow is the pantone colour of the year. I have a lovely custard dolman jacket.

Standrewsschool · 21/02/2021 08:27

If you like it, buy it.

Ninkanink · 21/02/2021 11:22

@Snoris I was kidding about it being dull (just in case it didn’t translate well)! If you love the yellow then go for it. I would actually choose based on what colour suits you better (in terms of skin undertone) as that will look best.

KirstenBlest · 21/02/2021 13:55

Sorry I meant Keeping Faith.
It's a bit Captain Birdseye but no harm in a sunny colour.

I like this one.

Northernsoullover · 21/02/2021 13:57

I bought one before keeping faith aired Sad. Suddenly they were everywhere. I still love it mind you... go for yellow.

MaverickDanger · 21/02/2021 13:59

I have the famous Zara short puffer one from a few years ago.

I’ve been wearing my Protected Species mac in the burnt red colour a lot more - nice to have a bit of colour but also goes with a lot more than the yellow.

Snoris · 21/02/2021 16:07

I noticed lots of yellow coats on my walk today.......I’m now wishing I’d ordered the blue ha ha! Oh well, the yellow one is on its way so we’ll see.

Definitely the influence of Eve Myles as Faith in Keeping Faith (I also want her hair and her house).

Ok so the coat came. It was a lovely colour, well made, value for money etc but just too much of a winter coat so it’s going back!

So bored of black and navy coats - yellow is still rare compared to those!
