I have been very impressed with Nars. Long lasting too.

ZaraW · 19/02/2021 17:08

Urban Decay are great.

Abracadabra12345 · 19/02/2021 17:27

The only one I’ve found which is 100% reliably matt is Look Fabulous Forever, online

peoplearepeople · 19/02/2021 17:29

I really like Bobbi brown matte colours. I think I use the cement shade nearly every day. They are expensive, but last forever and blend really well with no fallout. You can buy several shades and click them into one of her palettes. So handy.

Urban Decay Naked Basics palettes are very good if you want neutral matte
shades. I wouldn't recommend the Beauty Pie palettes. Their eyeshadow sticks are excellent, but the BP neutral palette I had was terrible. There was no pigment and the shades seemed to muddy into each other.

Bluntness100 · 19/02/2021 17:47

I like the Charlotte tilbury ones.

Volcanoexplorer · 19/02/2021 18:56

Bobbi Brown are my favourites. I like cement, antique rose wheat and malted - think these last 2 might not be available as a singles though, I have them in a pallet. Urban Decay are also lovely, but for some strange reason they make my eyes water (no other eyeshadow does this).

ValentinePomLePom · 19/02/2021 19:29

Thanks all
I find Urban Decay too shiney IYKWIM
Bobbi Brown will check out
The Beauty Pie one I loved
Heard Hula good too.

Taupe from Bobbi Brown is also another matt colour that I wear lots.

ZaraW · 20/02/2021 04:27

I use Urban Decay Laced there's no shine at all.

violetbunny · 20/02/2021 04:43

I also like Bobbi Brown for matte neutrals. The brand often launches palettes throughout the year, which can be a more cost effective way to purchase eyeshadows (though usually they have a mixture of finishes, e.g. matte and shimmer).

Charlotte tilbury makes really nice creamy mattes, I have her Desert Haze quad which is lovely. MAC also have palettes you can fill with whatever eyeshadows you like and have a really good selection of mattes.

Orchidflower1 · 20/02/2021 06:39

Do matte work better for ageing eyes? Lockdown has aged my eyes faster than the rest of my face!!

FreshFaceTime · 22/02/2021 19:54

My eyes have got more and more sensitive to shimmery or glittery eye shadows over the years and I can only really wear matte ones now.

I found this UD palette and all the colours are all completely matte: m.feelunique.com/p/Urban-Decay-Petite-Naked-Heat-Eyeshadow-Palette

It's not as big as some of the other UD palettes but at least I can wear them all without my eyes watering!

Brownteddybear · 22/02/2021 20:09

The urban decay naked basics is mostly matte with only one shade with a slight shimmer. The other urban decay palettes I agree are way too sparkly for me.

Bobbi brown another good call

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/02/2021 22:40

I use a single, nude-y matte colour every day - I am more a lips person. My favourites are MAC, Urban Decay, and an Estée Lauder one. The UD ones were in the Naked Basics and I later bought them as singles because I wore the pan out.

PawPawNoodle · 23/02/2021 00:07

The viseart palettes referred above are exceptional. PP linked the Transition palette by Dominique which is something I'm personally wanting to get.

I wouldn't recommend Urban Decay, certainly not for their matte formula and definitely not any of the Naked. Their standard has gone downhill and they're not worth the money for me.

QueenPaw · 23/02/2021 00:09

@PolPotNoodle I'm on a no buy and trying to resist the transition palette!!
Makeup geek is my favourite brand but no longer stocked in the U.K. Sad and I've used up my fave shade from them too

PawPawNoodle · 23/02/2021 00:13

@QueenPaw I'm trying to talk myself out of it because realistically I don't need it but I want it

Marlena seems to have let MUG go somewhat which is a shame.

QueenPaw · 23/02/2021 00:23

@PolPotNoodle it is, the eyeshadows are exceptional for the price. I have two full palettes of them luckily but I've finished my homecoming shade which was a lovely every day one

Forgot this brand, they do a matte one and the quality is good

I have found my 'one and only', the perfect matte, dot-on gently, stay-put, best thing since anything, eye shadow. Easy to remove as well and cheap as chips Grin.
I give you Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in taupe (other colours available).
