How to get your hair to grow

Over lockdown i’ve been trying to grow my hair longer. It currently goes down to just beneath the bottom of my bra at the back so it is getting long but it looks and feels as if it hasn’t grown any in months. I’ve been keeping it in good condition (using conditioning treatment things once a week) and I only wash my hair every three/sometimes four days. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for getting hair to grow quicker or just any tips to make it more shiny/smooth. Thank you

Biotin supplements. A godsend when my hair did the post partum shedding.

Unfortunately hair growth and quality is a lot of genetics.

I know some Asian girls, with stunning hip length hair who swear by castor oil, maybe give that a try.

You say that your hair has stopped growing which makes me think the condition of your hair isn't great. Your scalp doesn't know how long your hair is and will continue as normal. The reason you aren't seeing more length despite it continuing to grow is probably damaged and split ends breaking off. So every 1cm of hair growth, you are getting 1cm of breakage. You probably need a good trim.

I think hair can just get to a maximum length and not grow anymore. Well that seems to be the case with mine, grows really quickly to a couple of inches past my shoulders then just stops, it’s been the same length for months now.

It depends on how long, in time, the growth phase of your hair follicles is. Some people have a much longer growth phase than others so that affects the maximum length it can grow to. Someone with a 6 year growth phase will get really long hair compared to someone else’s 2 year growth phase.
