Please could I get your suggestions for perfumes that you consider good for Spring or that you wear during the spring months. Thank you ☺️

Is the Fidji edp just a stronger version than the edt, but the same aroma? I used to use this when younger, and got a hankering to revisit for spring. It's the same smell, not been tampered or updated. @MissBattleaxe @teta

lookdeepintotheparka · 18/02/2021 20:44

@MissBattleaxe nooo I'm going to preserve my bottle of Jade down to the vapours!

BTW the book you linked to looks fab - will be buying although my bank balance might not thank me for it Grin

StepOutOfLine · 18/02/2021 20:45

Fidji has been reformulated a few times over the years, and neither the new Edp or the EDT are as rich as the vintage version. The Edp is nearer to it though, it's a concentrated version of the modern EDT.

Cristalle is still on sale on the Chanel websites around the world, as well as other perfume retailers. They're either all selling off their back stock, or rumours of its demise are exaggerated!

Melange99 · 18/02/2021 20:48

Thanks, going to make a purchase.

MissBattleaxe · 18/02/2021 23:27

@StepOutOfLine you're right! I just searched for Cristalle and it's everywhere. A few weeks ago it had disappeared and was going for silly money on eBay. That's so weird.

MissBattleaxe · 18/02/2021 23:30

@Melange99 I stand corrected by my own blog post!

Barracker · 18/02/2021 23:45

My springiest fragrance is Féerie by Van Cleef & Arpels. Powdery violets, berries, irises. It just feels right in the spring.

Phew! Was just thinking I'd have to stockpile from eBay!
I wonder if a combination of pandemic, it being pretty spring/summer oriented plus Chanel starting to bombard with the flankers of other more "temporary" perfumes has shoved it onto a back burner for a bit?

StepOutOfLine · 19/02/2021 06:30

I succumbed to the Fidji EdP too. Grin

ouchmyfeet · 19/02/2021 07:55

Thanks for the tip off on fidgi EDP, I'm THRILLED to find that!

A lot of my spring favourites have been mentioned here: JM blackberry and bay, pear and freesia, fidgi, Chanel 19. I would add to the list: Chanel chance, Armani white (sadly discontinued), eau dynamisante, narciso Rodriguez poudre (the peach coloured one), and prada infusion d'iris

Is that you @MissBattleaxe! Wow.

I have bought the Fidji EDP. Spring here I come!

StepOutOfLine · 19/02/2021 15:39

I have bought 3 bottles of Jade from eBay Grin

MissBattleaxe · 19/02/2021 18:28

@Melange99 That's me! Smile

StepOutOfLine · 19/02/2021 18:31

Lol, I didn't want to out you last night MissB but thought that was funny. Grin

MissBattleaxe · 19/02/2021 18:41

@StepOutOfLine I thought it was hilarious, especially as I was disagreeing with my own blog post! I'm out and proud on the perfume boards so it's no problem! I'd name change if I had to talk about anything embarrassing.

Melange99 · 19/02/2021 20:51

@MissBattleaxe Great blog!

Do you remember a perfume by La Perla in a blue bottle, can't remember the name? I get cravings for it. It was almost medicinal in smell.

I am sure I used to love an Origins perfume called Spring Fever. Sherbetty aroma.

Nanasueathome · 19/02/2021 20:53

Jo Malone Wild Bluebell

user1471443026 · 20/02/2021 00:48

Chloe is my go to for spring 😍

MissBattleaxe · 20/02/2021 17:14

@Melange99 thank you! Do you mean La Perla j'aime la built? The top note is pear which might explain the medicinal note. On fragrantica you can find suggestions for smell a likes if you scroll down.

MissBattleaxe · 20/02/2021 17:14

J'aime la nuit

Melange99 · 20/02/2021 18:50

@MissBattleaxe The La Perla one in the blue bottle was called La Perla Blue! Doh. It looked like it was going to be a sea type fragrance but wasn't.

SecretSpAD · 20/02/2021 19:07

To me Blackberry and Bay is a late summer/autumn frangrance which I get excited about wearing every September (I wait all year for autumn lol). I'm trying out honeysuckle and davana but can't decide if I like it. Will also replace the delicious basil and neroli and Oscar de la renta Bella Blanca (think that's the name).

I'm also flirting again with Chanel perfumes after getting coco noir for Christmas. Have ordered Chanel no5 as I haven't worn it in years and remember loving it.

And then there's a Tom Ford one that I like but can't remember if it was. Black orchid or velvet orchid that I preferred.

Melange99 · 20/02/2021 19:31

Is Chanel Deauville springlike and still available?

MissBattleaxe · 20/02/2021 20:04

@Melange99 If it's this one, its sounds fantastic for spring. According to Fragrantica readers. Jo Malone Bluebell is simialr.
