I’ve stopped using Liz Earle after they were found guilty of maternity discrimination and hearing how poorly they treat female employees. Can anyone recommend a cleanser to replace please?

Superdrug and boots do their own versions of hot cloth cleanser.

Kitewoman · 16/02/2021 20:01

I started using recently the Superfacialist Vitamin C oil cleanser and love it.

Cornetttttto · 16/02/2021 20:26

Sanctuary hot cloth cleanser is heaven in a bottle.

Volcanoexplorer · 16/02/2021 20:34

I’ve got dry skin and my current 2 favourites are Clinique Take the day off balm and Ren jelly cleanser. Both are lovely. At the moment I’m using the Clinique as my first cleanse and Ren as my second cleanse.

OxanaVorontsova · 16/02/2021 20:36

Q&A hyaluronic gel cleanser is lovely.

MerlotNot · 16/02/2021 20:37

I love Avene for my dry, sensitive, prone to blemishes skin!

NewScone · 16/02/2021 21:04

Beauty Pie Japanfusion
Cetaphil for 2nd cleanse.

Cornetttttto · 16/02/2021 21:06

Why are we all double cleansing??

Volcanoexplorer · 16/02/2021 21:27

I don’t if I haven’t worn makeup or spf, but that’s rare. I wear spf most days because I use retinol and acids. Double cleansing helps to make sure all the spf is gone.

I've just started using upcircle products and they are fab.

As a company they have a really good ethos - cruelty free, UK made, low carbon footprint and recyclable packaging etc.

They smell a bit medicinal (slightly reminiscent of mosquito repellent!) but my skin is looking so much better after only 2 weeks.

slyoldfox · 16/02/2021 21:40

Give Me makeup remover with the reusable pad is really good.

MemoryIsRAM · 16/02/2021 21:41

Clinique Take the Day Off as first cleanse, then Aldi hot cloth cleanse for the second. It's just as good as the Liz Earle.

Cookiedough123 · 16/02/2021 21:42

I really like tropic. I was put off as they have people that do the annoying sales pitch but to be fair the products are lovely and I feel like I have a pamper everytime I use it. You can buy it online without buying through the ambassadors if you don't like that kind of sales.

cheeseybean · 16/02/2021 21:44

Eve lom is a better version of Liz Earle. Recommend it fully!

chatw00 · 17/02/2021 08:58

Lush Ultrabalm.

Inky List oat something cleanser.

Superdrug have a couple of hot cloth cleansers - think one is the naturally radiant range and the other Vit E.

NewScone · 17/02/2021 09:10

Ooh yes Lush Ultrabalm is nice

1990s · 17/02/2021 09:13

Do any of these come in a more recycleable bottle? I like the inkey list but they all come in tiny squeezy tubes that I feel aren’t the best..:

Justcashnosweets · 17/02/2021 09:17

I've just started using sweet almond oil in the evening as a first cleanse, and i noticed my skin looked better from the first night i used it. It smells lovely too.

XingMing · 17/02/2021 09:25

DHC cleansing oil, hot cloth. Lasts ages... bottles are recyclable.

BusterGonad · 17/02/2021 10:05

I just use a l'oréal cleansing milk with damp cotton wool. Double cleansing would kill my skin, I'd be a dried out eczema ridden mess!

Deathraystare · 17/02/2021 10:12

That is shocking news especially as the owner is female!

Sadly I have just bought a load from QVC!

I think Liz Earle sold her shares to Boots a while ago.

I use Cleanse and Polish but a whilenago bought some Sanctuary Hot cloth cleanser as it was about £2.99 a tube on amazon.

StepOutOfLine · 17/02/2021 10:56

Double cleansing isn't harsh, it just means removing your make up before cleansing your face.
The Superdrug vit E is one of my favourites. Body Shop Chamomile balm is similar to the Clinique, both of which I also love.
I tend to remove make up with an oil cleanser and then use a hydrating cream or balm as second cleanse.

NewScone · 17/02/2021 12:17

Double cleansing isn't harsh at all if I use the right products. So I use an oil like DHC to remove make up then after the cetapil which is ultra gentle. Then night cream. If I used an exfoliating cleanser then my skin would not be thank full though.

Yellowtopaz · 17/02/2021 12:21

Eve Lom is £££ though!
