Scar from mole shave excision

I had a mole removed a month ago by shave excision.
The mole was on the side of my nose, to the left of the bridge. It was more like a squidgy lump really but the dermatologist confirmed it was a mole and was benign.
I removed it because it seemed to be getting bigger or more noticeable and lockdown was the best time because I could hide behind a mask. I did not want a witch's nose any longer!

I'm just wondering how long it takes for the scar to fade. The round scar is about 5mm diameter and is pale pink. It is ever so slightly raised at the edges of the 'hole' but is much flatter than it was. I have been using silicone scar gel sheets. I would be disappointed if it stayed like this. Please tell me I'm just being impatient and the scar will fade in time!

Unfortunately I had a mole removed by shave excision maybe 2 or 3 years ago and the mark has always been visible.
What is worse is I can see my mole coming back now...

Do they come back? I tried to cut a mole off my chin when I was about 10 and despite taking a massive chunk of my face off and causing a lot of pain and bleeding, it seemed unscathed It's still there, and when my DS was obsessed with it. He had some wood wood series Julia Donaldson books which had a mole them and would then point to my chin and laugh too.

@PandoraRocks with other scars it's taken about a year to fade honestly, but then they seem to just disappear.

I had my facial moles excised (cut out, with all the mole cells cut out from under the skin and the wounds stitched) and the scarring was virtually zero just a week later. I saw a plastic surgeon and he said he could shave them but there was a 50-80% chance they would eventually grow back. I didn't fancy those odds!!

I had one taken off my nose about 13 years ago, absolutely no scar, it healed and faded really quickly which I was really pleased about because I've had keloid scars on my ear and back.

It really depends. Shave excision doesn't always go deep enough to prevent the move from coming back, but it is less likely to scar. I had 3 growths removed. One was a cyst and it left a pocket that I have to get filler put in. It looks like a seep acne scar though it is not and the bump I had was better than the scar. Grrr.
I had another one done by shave excision a few months ago (mole now cyst) and there is a mark that gets better by the week.
A had a msall move removed by shave excision, and I could not find the spot if I tried.
Silicone and sunscreen are your friends. It will definitely fade overthe course of a year. You won't know results before then, but keep it protected.

I had the same (well, different location, same sort of thing) done back in Aug/Sep and there are still two little marks where both were shaved off.

Not sure if that's because the moles/lumps were not the same colour as the rest of my facial skin or it's a mini scar? I figured they would fade, but hasn't happened yet.
