Fabletics - sense check

curlytops21 · 16/02/2021 14:20

I know there are eleventy billion threads about Fabletics so I will keep this short. I like the look of the leggings, even if I don't like the business model. I'm assuming the bad reviews are from those who didn't realise they were signing up for a monthly subscription, despite the warnings / small print.

With that in mind, if I want to buy the 2 for £24 then cancel my account on receipt of the goods, is it that easy? Has anyone actually had problems cancelling their account? Or has anyone cancelled only to be billed at a later stage / had any other issues?

Thanks!

Also curious!

SunnySideDownBriefly · 16/02/2021 14:28

I've done it so many times and it's really easy. You can call them up or do it by Live Chat. They'll try to get you to stay and give you discounts but it really isn't worth it after the sign-up deal. The monthly subscription credits can't be used for sale items and they take £49 and you only get £44 credit...how does that work?!

You can stay on a 'guest' account which means you have access to everything but they won't take the monthly fee.

A little tip - to open a new account, all you need is a different email address. They don't check.

Thanks for this. I know I won't forget to cancel, so this sounds promising!

I cancelled using the Live Chat and it was fine. The rep did try to talk to me into staying but I said firmly I just want to go ahead and cancel, thank you very much... and that was fine, they cancelled it for me.

I definitely think a lot of the negative reviews are from people who don't read how it works! I've worked for a completely different subscription box service before and you'd be amazed to know how many people will take up a monthly subscription and then a month later be shocked and angry when the subscription renews. Confused

I rang up to cancel. It was no trouble. Love the leggings and I'm going to order more

Happymum12345 · 16/02/2021 15:20

I had no trouble cancelling subscription. However, my leggings keep falling down and I can’t wear them. My teenage dd has some and she thinks they’re amazing.

This is exactly what I thought. There are loads of comments on Facebook from outraged consumers who clearly didn't read the details of what they were signing up for. I know what i would be signing up for and will have no issue cancelling immediately. I just wondered if anyone who has taken the same approach from me has been outraged!?

Anyway, I'm wondering about timings of signing up and cancelling. If i buy today, for example, I wonder whether my first monthly payment would come out at the start of March or start of April? Ie buying today wouldn't leave a lot of time for the goods to arrive and for me to cancel before a next payment...

Does anyone know how that would work?

Ooh and any recommendations re which leggings to get or avoid? I like full length, high waist, bum lift if possible and side pocket. Something similar to Sweaty Betty Power leggings if poss?

Do you both wear the same style of leggings? I need a pair which will stay up over my mum tum!

High waisted Powerhold are amazing. Absolutely stay put and they also do a 7/8 length if you're a shorty like me. Great for squatting and jumping around.

The Oasis are beautiful and soft if you want something that you can feel comfortable in all day. They're not as tight but they have lovely contours so look good for more gentle classes and days!

Acunningruse · 16/02/2021 15:55

The leggings are so bloody good but yes it's more hassle than an ordinary retailer. I'm on my second account with them using a different email address to get the new offer.

Everything is just a bit of a pain with them eg if you want to return something you have to email or call them first and they ask if you want an exchange, store credit or a full refund. I returned a parcel 10 days ago and haven't had the refund yet. And once I had store credit in my basket and it wouldn't let me spend it, I had too call them. And yes you must log in to skip the month or you'll be charged £49. They will send you an email reminder.

Notwithstanding the above the leggings and sports bras are hands down the best I've owned. I do Les Mills every day and the leggings and bras do not move. I'm also wearing a pair of joggers today - Drew sweatpants- which are so cosy and have pockets!!

Acunningruse · 16/02/2021 15:57

I agree with @SunnySideDownBriefly if you want all day comfort highly recommend Oasis (I'm 5ft 1 and the 7/8 are full length on me) and if you want leggings that seriously won't budge on a run then go for power hold. They will feel small whilst putting them on but will be absolutely fine once on.

They send you an email before it's due to renew and you will then have a few days to skip the month in your account so that no payment will be taken. So you could just wait for your delivery, and then cancel - or if you get an email that it's due to renew before then, just skip that first month.

idontlikealdi · 16/02/2021 16:20

I love fabletics leggings and have used the opening offer three times just used my husbands and daughters email addresses. Cancelling is absolutely easy via live chat.

I have kept my last subscription active and I have to skip or cancel before the fifth of the month.

curlytops21 · 16/02/2021 16:23

Brilliant - thanks everyone. The only problem i forsee now, is that looking on the website, there not much available in my size in the two for £24 offer. No nice patterns and a paltry colour selection. Hopefully they will get more stock soon....

Hi everyone sorry for piggy backing on this. Just bought something on Fabletics and read about subscription etc. I haven't received the goods yet.

Can I only cancel subscription between the 1st and 5th of each month or can I cancel once I have my order? TIA

DelilahDingleberry · 13/05/2021 12:42

You can cancel as soon as you receive your order.

I'm a bit obsessed with leggings and have wondered about these but I can't get my head around the subscription model. Why would anyone get a leggings subscription Confused

ambereeree · 13/05/2021 19:13

What is sizing like? Is a 10 in next a small?

DelilahDingleberry · 13/05/2021 20:32

I think if you subscribe, you get outfits at £49 a month, rather than full price. For someone who works out most days a week it’s probably worth it.
