Hair loss... Please could I have your opinion?

Hi,

I’ve had excessive hair shedding now for a few years. The dermatologist I went to has put me on Spironolactone for hormonal hair loss which has cut the shedding down to around half of what it was. I notice a difference in my hair though and I’m not sure it’ll ever be what it was. I’m 40 now so maybe age related? Could I have your opinion on if it is obvious?

I wish mine was that thick

Tarantallegra · 16/02/2021 00:01

No it's not obvious Smile

Yes every month we get the same post from her. Honestly I would love your hair.. I have real hair loss and shedding at the moment
I say this in the kindest way possible but you need to see someone with regards to this. Your hair looks totally normal and considering you have been making monthly posts for over a year now about extreme shedding you should have no hair left at this stage !

You post this attention-seeking thread quite regularly.

I really do have hair loss for hideous medical reasons, and I find your regular posts really quite offensive.

If you have mental health problems and aren’t merely a troll, please get help.

Oh great Hmm

Tisforptarmigan · 16/02/2021 14:57

Hi, I think it looks normal to me. In fact, you look to have more hair than me (I've always had fine hair).

I know it's upsetting, but I don't think that anyone else would notice.

SummerHouse · 16/02/2021 15:03

A) It's not obvious.
B) It's not even noticeable.
C) You have really thick hair.

I do wonder if this is more of a mental issue? Like dysmorphophobia.

Yes - my impression too. Tiresome.

I have thinning hair which I believe is hormone related. I have a theory and that is that women that have a more problematic menopause seem to be more likely to suffer hormone related hair thinning and loss ( the male pattern baldness type of thinning). This is purely anecdotal.
On a separate note I developed trichotillomania shortly after puberty and suffered until the menopause when it virtually resolved spontaneously. There are lots of theories for what causes trichotillomania, I firmly believe it is also hormone related.

AnyFucker · 16/02/2021 16:35

Op, can you come back and clarify whether you are repeatedly coming back with the same question ? Also, it’s a bit shitty to get people sharing their own stories about such a sensitive subject and then to fuck off.

Janegrey333 · 17/02/2021 13:50

I think she even uses the same stupid photograph. She lacks imagination.

TitsInAbsentia · 17/02/2021 13:54

@anyfucker ditto... I have a very thin top thatch and a pathetic tassel where once was a bouncy pony tail.

AnyFucker · 17/02/2021 19:30

Sorry to hear that, Tits. ❤️
