Denim jacket for 10 year old ?

Midlifemission · 13/02/2021 19:08

Dd wants a denim jacket for her 10th birthday and I am happy to oblige apart from I can't seem to find something just right.

I often buy from next, monsoon, Boden, and joules. I have looked at all of these I think and ordered a couple from John Lewis / next and one from Mintie but they were a) tiny and b) tended to have either branding , coloured embroidery etc none of which we really want .

Anyone got just a classic denim jacket for this age group so I can try again ?

Online shopping not helpful for stuff like this as not sure where else to look

It's possible the supermarkets might be good but I don't go to any .

Thanks for any ideas

What size is she, my 10 year old DS is now wearing Xs men’s clothing, you may get more of what you like in adult clothes.

If you don’t mind second hand, eBay is generally stuffed with kids’ denim jackets

CeeceeBloomingdale · 13/02/2021 19:32

H&M maybe? Its.nit really the season for them. I bought my 10yo a XS ladies one recently so it's baggier on her than intended

AccidentallyOnPurpose · 13/02/2021 19:33

H&M have loads in starting at £18 .

Try GAP?

H and M. Excellent selection.

My 12 year old found a Levi jacket in the sale before christmas.

They do kids sizes. We got age 14, lucky we did as it shrank in the wash, like denim does, and now fits nicely :)

As per PP- has to be Levi for a classic!

JustCallMeBrittany · 13/02/2021 20:14

H&M have a kids range with Lee, just got an email this week. They have dome nice pieces.

Dogsandbabies · 13/02/2021 20:27

Zara kids always has great staples like that.

Toomanycats99 · 13/02/2021 20:32

I got a nice one for my daughter from sainsburys. That was about 4 years ago though!

Midlifemission · 13/02/2021 21:08

Thanks these replies are brilliant - I totally forgot about H and M, Gap and Zara online .
Weird as if I was in a shopping centre I would go in to those but just didn’t occur to my locked down brain !!
Just having a quick look and am sure one of those will work .

I do like the classic Levi but may go cheaper as she will outgrow it !

She will be so happy !

New look teen range is usually good for this although my 13 yo got hers from H&M
Difference between online experiences during lockdown is quite important though - I wouldn't touch H&M but New Look have been excellent

ILOVEALLCAKES · 13/02/2021 21:17

My daughter has a lovely denim jacket from Fat Face.

We wanted the same, a simple classic blue denim jacket and really struggled to find one that didn't have some annoying 'girly' feature, such as being cropped, frayed, embroidered, holes or rips etc from loads of shops. We eventually found exactly what we were looking for in Primark, where I don't normally shop but was desperate at this point! So might be worth a shot?

chestnutmares · 14/02/2021 00:09

Meant to add that it was in the women's section, we bought a size 8 and it fit great. Everything in the girls section was a bit frilly and annoying!
