curling hair and rain

Within minutes of going out into the cold or rain and a couple of hours after curling my hair using tongs my hair will really start to frizz up (and lose the curl) . Hairspray and serum don't seem to work. I think I need something specific to target humidity but don't have the money to trial and test so has anyone had a similar problem and found something that really works. I don't mind spending more on a product if it works.

Hairdresser here.
Your blow dry products are really important, try nectar thermique by kerastase (heat protector) and then Pli by L’Oreal which holds blow drys/styling for days.
Finish with a good hairspray (L’Oreal professional) and you should be good to go

Thanks @TessTackle I actually already own the kerastase nectar thermique which is brilliant stuff! Just looked at the pli as not heard of it before, do I use both on damp hair?

Yes, both on damp hair.
I like to give a secondary spritz of pli before using hot tools too. If blowdrying with a round brush you can also spritz the brush with pli.
