It's a good friend's 40th soon and for significant reasons I'd like to get her a beautiful red lipstick. Something in the £20-30 price range that you wouldn't normally buy yourself but would be a lovely gift. I know she won't get much use out of it until facemasks are gone, but it'll be something for her to look forward to wearing when social life is better. Recommendations please :)

Just came on to say the Lisa Eldridge one. It's beautiful.

Special packaging: Carolina Herrera in Carolina N310. Gucci Rouge 25 Goldie Red - case to die for! Guerlain Rouge G in 214 and Charlotte Tilbury Matt Revolution in Red Carpet Red. Pat McGrath in Elson from Selfridges. Fab.

A few are over £30 but are special!

Sparkletastic · 12/02/2021 19:13

Yeah Lisa Eldridge. And I'm a red lipstick aficionado.

Are you looking for a cool or warm toned Red? I recently got Illamasqua’s Antimatter Lipstick in ‘Rocket’ & highly recommend it. Its a really intense cool toned blue red, somewhere between a matte & satin texture & feels lovely on.

Cumberlover76 · 12/02/2021 19:59

Not sure if cool or warm. She's dark hair, dark eyes paleish skin. But a classic red if that makes sense? The Lisa Eldridge looks beautiful, ill check out the ones PresentingPercy has listed.

Harrods on line have the most amazing selection of lipsticks. Everything I suggested is available there I think. There’s also a wonderful D&G one for £30. I think a designer name gives the present ooph. The Charlotte Tilbury ones have great cases too.

Thanks, i shall have a browse with a glass of wine later! Something to look forward to :)

I have probably 20 different red lipsticks. If you want something around £20, with nice packaging, brand, etc. the Fenty beauty one www.boots.com/fenty-beauty-stunna-lip-paint-longwear-fluid-lip-colour-10263137?cm_mmc=bmm-buk-google-ppc--PLAs_HeroCompare--Shopping+12.05.20-_-Boots+Shopping+-+Category+-+Premium+-+Desktop&gclid=CjwKCAiAjp6BBhAIEiwAkO9Wun7mYQgllZCZzokU_w5_N-3U5YBqerDQFJB_vc6obOhYKUbZV5yNYxoCSdwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds is great and lasts for ages once it's dry. I put some lip balm underneath first and it's very comfortable.

Lisa Elridge for sure. Turned me into a red lipstick covert!

Yes, another red lipstick fanatic coming to say Lisa Eldridge. Velvet Ribbon will suit regardless of undertones/skin tone it really is pretty much universally flattering with a beautiful dimension to the colour. The formulation is very adaptive, you can wear it very lightly like a stain if red lipsticks scare you initially or very vibrant and full and it looks great as both.

Pat McGrath has some stunning ones and beautiful packaging and some are on offer currently for £12 rather than £30. Also very fast free delivery.
